My Disney Experience is Walt Disney World’s mobile app, designed to help guests plan and navigate their magical Disney vacation. The app has been continually updated by Disney to add features aimed at making planning easier and enhance guest experience. Such updates have included merchandise mobile checkout, Direct-to-Room check in, submitting cast member compliments and more.
Newly added this week, My Disney Experience now has a “Transportation” information feature that allows you to quickly view available transportation options within Disney World.
How To View Transportation Options On The My Disney Experience App
Here is how to access Transportation information in the My Disney Experience app, and what you can expect to find within this new feature.
Transportation Types Available
As you can see on My Disney Experience, there is a wide variety of transportation types available to whisk you around Disney World.
Disney Skyliner
Disney Skyliner is one of the newest transportation methods added to Disney World, and has quickly become a fan favorite! These aerial gondolas glide across the sky to transport guests to Hollywood Studios or the International Gateway at Epcot. Resorts that feature Skyliner stations include Art of Animation, Caribbean Beach, Pop Century, and Riviera. The Skyliner certainly worth trying if you are staying at one of these resorts: take a look at the colorful gondolas decorated with Disney characters and enjoy the breeze as you sail through the sky.
Minnie Van
After being unavailable for a time during the pandemic, many guests (including myself) are happy to see Minnie Vans are available again! These private vans are available to transport guests around Disney World. They are a great option if you want a private and comfortable ride to or from the parks, or perhaps are going to a destination out of the way (dinner at another resort, for example). Minnie Vans are available to book through Lyft, and costs a fee based on distance.
Bus
Bus service is available to transport guests to almost every location within Disney World, including Disney Springs and the water parks. Each resort and park has a bus station with helpful signage informing you which bus to take. They start and end service before park opening times to allow guests plenty of time to travel between their resorts. Resort bus stations also offer helpful signage with estimated bus arrival times.
Monorail
This iconic transportation service is certainly a classic, and for many it is a must-do during their vacation! The smooth and quick monorail system can take guests from the Ticket and Transportation Center to Magic Kingdom or EPCOT. The monorail line also has stations at the Contemporary Resort, Grand Floridian, and the Polynesian — a huge benefit of staying at any of these resorts!
Boat
Water transportation can be an enjoyable and relaxing way to reach your destination in Disney World. Water taxis and ferries are available to take guests across Seven Seas Lagoon from several resorts (Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, Grand Floridian, the Polynesian, and Wilderness Lodge) to Magic Kingdom. Large ferryboats can transport guests from the Ticket & Transportation Center to Magic Kingdom. Over at Epcot and Hollywood Studios, watercraft service is available between these parks and Boardwalk Villas, Beach Club Villas, Yacht Club Resort, and Walt Disney World Swan & Dolphin hotels. You can also take a water taxi to Disney Springs from Old Key West, Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa, and the Port Orleans Resorts!
Throughout any Disney World vacation, you will likely be traveling between resorts, parks or other locations throughout your stay. With this new Transportation information feature added to the My Disney Experience App, guests will hopefully be able to more easily plan and navigate their way through Disney World!
