Disney World’s Most Thrilling Attractions

Disney World is well-known for its family-friendly atmosphere and large variety of all-ages rides and attractions. But there is still a place for thrill-seekers at Walt Disney World with exciting, high-speed, thrilling attractions. If you have an adrenaline-seeker in your family then you will definitely want to check out Disney World’s most thrilling attractions.

Tron Lightcycle Run – Magic Kingdom

Disney World’s newest and perhaps most thrilling attraction is Tron Lightcycle Run. This innovative coaster is located in Magic Kingdom’s Tomorrowland, and places guests in a prone position on a Tron-style Lightcycle. This attraction launches guests at a high speed that is unmatched by most other Disney attractions. The ride is partially enclosed but has an outdoor segment in which guests soar over an active walkway. Tron Lightcycle Run is a very popular attraction that is currently only operating under virtual queue and Lightning Lane. If this attraction is on your must-do list then be sure to add yourself to the virtual queue or purchase Lightning Lane as soon as you are able to!

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster – Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Hollywood Studios‘ fastest coaster is Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster: Starring Aerosmith! This coaster is also a launch coaster operating at high-speeds and features three inversions. This coaster is located entirely indoors and blasts guests through a busy city filled with neon lights and the best sights. Guests are riding in a super stretch limo escorting them to Aerosmith’s show as VIPs, and there is no time to lose!

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind – EPCOT

EPCOT’s newest addition to its thrill ride lineup is Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. This unique coaster takes guests through an intergalactic chase and features favorite characters from the Guardians films. This ride is thrilling for any guest, but especially for guests who are fans of the series. There are so many fun references to the films during this attraction, and an amazing soundtrack too.

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind has an exciting feature that you can’t find anywhere else in any Disney park: a backwards launch! This coaster is also one of the biggest fully-enclosed coasters in the world, and features incredible special effects that will amaze you. Some guests describe this attraction as being an out-of-body experience.

Expedition Everest – Disney’s Animal Kingdo

You don’t have to travel all the way to Asia to experience Disney World’s version of Mt. Everest! Animal Kingdom’s only roller coaster is Expedition Everest, and this ride really seeks to thrill. Expedition Everest tells a rich story from queue-line to finish, and takes guests on a wild and fast journey. Expedition Everest features a huge drop, several track switches, and even a section of ride traveling in reverse. Expedition Everest also showcases a large Yeti monster, amongst other special effects.

Space Mountain – Magic Kingdom

Magic Kingdom is full of classic attractions dating all the way back to the park’s opening in 1971. One of these classic attractions is Space Mountain. Space Mountain at its core is a basic roller coaster, but its pitch black darkness and theming help to make it a very thrilling attraction. Space Mountain takes guests on a journey through outer-space, and its darkness, projections, and sound design all come together to give guests a good thrill-ride experience.

The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror – Disney’s Hollywood Studios

At first glance, The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror might just seem like a basic drop ride. However, this ride located in Hollywood Studios has some of the best theming and suspense of any attraction at Walt Disney World. When guests step into the queue-line for this attraction they are immediately surrounded by eerie fog and spooky atmosphere. As they enter the lobby for the Hollywood Tower Hotel, it is immediately apparent that something is very wrong. Cobwebs cloak the room, and items have been abandoned by hotel guests. The suspense that leads guests up to the attraction itself is unlike any other thrill ride in the world. Don’t skip this one!
