Did you know that there are three Disney Vacation Club Resorts in the U.S. that can be found in areas other than Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resorts? If you’re looking to use or rent DVC points and are craving sand and sun, try Disney’s Vero Beach Resort on the eastern coast of Florida, Disney’s Hilton Head Island Resort in South Carolina, or Aulani, a Disney Resort and Spa on the island of Oahu, Hawaii. Each offer their own unique vibe and daily activities while achieving the cleanliness, charm, and hospitality one consistently finds at Disney Resorts.
Hilton Head Island has repeatedly won awards for the “#1 Island in the Continental U.S.,” so it’s no surprise Disney has elected this location on which to operate a resort. At Disney’s Hilton Head Island Resort, guests will find a variety of things to do on their vacation, everything from lounging by the tropical pool to bike rentals to cooling off with a Mickey-shaped shaved ice. A stay at this resort results in a relaxing and recharging vacation, while being among those special Disney touches that make for magical and memorable moments.
On March 12, 2023, Disney Parks shared an exciting announcement on their social media outlets. Beginning soon, Chip and Dale will greet guests at Disney’s Hilton Head Island Resort! While character appearances and meet and greets are a regular part of the daily activity schedule at Aulani, that has not been the case in recent years at both Hilton Head Island and Vero Beach. However, the statement about Chip and Dale appearances could be just the first of more to come. At the 2022 Disney Vacation Club Condo Association meeting held this past December, it was mentioned that the “Character Caravans,” character pop-in visits to resorts that were well-received during the Covid-19 pandemic, may continue and/or return to DVC resorts to encourage character interaction. What great news!
Chip and Dale are no stranger to meeting guests. Beginning in early summer 2021, the two chipmunks were seen at Hollywood Studios having a picnic. They have since been replaced with Donald and Daisy but Chip and Dale are now meeting at a location near Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular in their Rescue Rangers attire. They are also found in Magic Kingdom adjacent to Pete’s Silly Side Show at Storybook Circus. In addition, Chip and Dale are also found in Animal Kingdom dressed in dinosaur costumes in DinoLand U.S.A. Aren’t they just adorable? Chip and Dale also host their own Campfire Sing-along at The Campsites at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort. Over in California, Chip and Dale are usually found on Buena Vista Street at Disney California Adventure and occasionally make an appearance in Town Square.
At the time of publication, a start date for meeting Chip and Dale at Disney’s Hilton Head Island Resort has yet to be released.
