Though it’s hard to believe, February is already upon us! It may be a surprise to some, but Disney World can be a very romantic place to spend Valentine’s Day: entertaining activities, delectable dining options, and charmingly themed resorts make for the perfect getaway for couples. DVC resorts in particular offer amenities and features that are perfect for celebrating this holiday. Read on for some ideas for spending your Valentine’s Day at a DVC resort!
Polynesian Villas
This iconic resort offers couples the chance to escape to a tropical paradise right in the heart of Disney World. Lush foliage, soothing music and an unbeatable view of Magic Kingdom make this one of the most romantic resorts on property.
Visit Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto for a date night beverage. This tropical lounge is a fun and intimate tiki bar offering delicious appetizers, cocktails, mocktails and some of the most entertaining cast members around! Line up early to secure your spot for this popular lounge. If you prefer to be outdoors to enjoy your beverage, Trader Sam’s Tiki Terrace offers a lovely outdoor seating area with a rock wall waterfall, tiki lights and frequent live entertainment from talented ukulele players/singers.
In the evening, take a romantic stroll on the beaches along Seven Seas Lagoon and watch the nighttime fireworks spectacular over Magic Kingdom. The Polynesian Villas offer some of the best views of these shows without having to stand in the crowds on Main Street U.S.A.!
Bay Lake Tower
Just a short walk away from the entrance to Magic Kingdom and connected to the Contemporary by a convenient skywalk, Bay Lake Tower offers a great location and romantic dining options–perfect for a Valentine’s Day getaway.
Steakhouse 71 (in the A-Frame Tower of the Contemporary Resort, on the first floor) offers delicious food in a casual yet elegantly modern setting. The variety of appetizers are perfect for sharing, and the entrees continue to get rave reviews.
For the ultimate romantic Valentine’s Day date, reserve your evening meal at California Grill. On the 15th floor of the Contemporary Resort, floor-to-ceiling windows frame this restaurant and offer sweeping views of Seven Seas Lagoon and Magic Kingdom. If your meal takes place during a scheduled fireworks show, you’ll enjoy unbeatable views of the spectacular–so be sure to check out scheduled showtimes when you make your reservation! Through March 31 of this year, California Grill is offering a special menu celebrating the 50th Anniversary; starting April 1, a 3-course selection menu will be featured.
Beach Club Villas
For a romantic waterfront Valentine’s Day getaway, look no further than the Beach Club Villas. Here you will find a peaceful retreat with nautical theming and plenty of on-site activities to enjoy together. Take in the gorgeous views of Crescent Lake as you explore the resort; or take a quick stroll over to EPCOT, as the International Gateway and Skyliner are mere moments away from the Villas.
In addition to the enormous Stormalong Bay feature pool, there are also three leisure pools around the Villas. Relax poolside together, or rent a cabana for a luxurious pool day Valentine’s Day date. For an entertaining and adventurous date activity, you can also rent a motorized boat on-site and take a cruise around Crescent Lake together.
DVC Shop always offers unbeatable pricing on new and confirmed resort reservations. New reservations can be made up to 11 months in advance, so be sure to start planning next year’s Valentine’s Day getaway soon! To book a last-minute February stay, check out our confirmed reservations here!
