EPCOT’s World Showcase neighborhood presents the culture, history and cuisine of 11 different countries with thoughtful and authentic details.
EPCOT’s American Adventure Pavilion
Today we’re taking a closer look at the American Adventure Pavilion. Between the Japan and Italy pavilions, guests will find a stately colonial-style building reflecting the Georgian design style of the late 1700s, Colonial Williamsburg, Independence Hall, Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello and the Old State House. A huge outdoor stage/amphitheater hosts popular live shows throughout the year; and just beyond the stage, you can spot“Golden Dream” ship is docked in the World Showcase Lagoon.
Shops
- The Art of Disney shop offers a selection of artwork and collectibles. Guests can find paintings, framed art, canvas, limited-edition prints, cels, figurines, and Disney Classic Collection items here.
- There is also an outdoor kiosk that offers souvenirs like cups, shirts and Mickey ears (open weather permitting).
Dining
Quick Service
At Fife & Drum Tavern, guests can pick up a quick snack such as popcorn, ice cream, a Mickey pretzel or jumbo turkey leg. There is also an assortment of beverages available, from alcoholic drinks to refreshing frozen slushies.
Block & Hans is the perfect place to grab a quick beverage. Guests can order from a menu of American ales, IPA and cider or get a beer flight. Bottled water and Mickey pretzels are also available.
The Funnel Cake Stand sells this popular and tasty treat, perfect for those with a sweet tooth. Limited-time special flavors are often featured during festivals.
Regal Eagle Smokehouse: Craft Drafts & Barbecue offers delicious “backyard barbecue” prepared using techniques from famous barbecue regions in America. Deliciously smoked meats such as chicken, burgers, pork and brisket are featured on the menu, with plenty of sides to choose from. For a plant-based option, try the BBQ Jackfruit Burger. This quick service restaurant offers plenty of indoor seating and is a great place to grab a tasty lunch in the air conditioning. There is also an outdoor bar offering various beverages, including the popular Moonshine Sour.
Attractions
The American Adventure show is housed in the pavilion’s stately Colonial Theater. 35 Audio-Animatronic figures and 72-foot screens present the story of America’s history. The show features Benjamin Franklin and Mark Twain as our guides through such historical moments as the landing of the Mayflower, the Boston Tea Party, the winter at Valley Forge, the penning of the Declaration of Independence, the Civil War and the Great Depression.
The American Heritage Gallery houses the “Creating Tradition: Innovation and Change in American Indian Art” exhibition. This gallery of authentic artifacts and artwork showcases the history and cultural traditions of seven geographic regions across the United States, and celebrates the work of several notable artists. It is well worth a visit.
Entertainment
The America Gardens Theater is home to some of the most popular shows offered throughout the year, usually in conjunction with a festival. Series include Eat to the Beat, Candlelight Processional, Disney on Broadway Concert Series and the Garden Rocks Concert Series. Keep an eye on our blog for 2023 show details as they come available!
The Voices of Liberty are an a capella group that perform regularly in the rotunda (inside the American Adventure building). They perform classic American folk songs and other popular favorites. Their moving harmonies are sure to captivate your ears and emotions. Check the My Disney Experience app for showtimes.
Kidcot Fun Stops offer kids the chance to grab a fun souvenir/activity as they make their way around the World Showcase. The American Pavilion’s Kidcot Stop is located outside of the Art of Disney shop (to the right as you are facing the building).
