How To Make The Most of Your Checkout Day at Disney World

What’s the worst part of any Disney vacation? Leaving! Check-out day is a hard day for many guests. Packing up and beginning your journey back home can be exhausting and stressful. It’s hard when the magic ends and it’s time to checkout of your Disney resort. Are you looking for ways to extend your vacation, even after you check out? Here is how you can make the most of your checkout day at Disney World!

Schedule a Breakfast Reservation at Your Resort

My favorite way to extend my Disney vacation into my checkout day is by scheduling a sit-down breakfast. I try and make the breakfast reservation for as late into the morning as possible so I can collect all of my luggage and clean out my resort room prior to leaving for breakfast. If you’ve already gathered your things it makes breakfast stress-free with no urge to rush back to your room afterward. Character breakfasts in particular are a great way to sprinkle a little more magic into your vacation! My family enjoys Topolino’s Terrace breakfast with Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Daisy!

Store Your Luggage At Bell Services

After you leave your room and gather all of your luggage, feel free to stop by Bell Services and have them hold it for you until you are ready to depart Disney property. If you don’t have plans to leave Disney property until late-afternoon or evening, then this service provides you with the ability to relax at your resort and do whatever you please without carrying your bags all day.

Visit Disney Springs

Disney Springs is just a short bus-ride, or boat-ride if departing from Old Key West and Saratoga Springs, away! Your checkout day is a great day to visit Disney Springs, Disney World’s large outdoor shopping and entertainment center. Were you not able to find that perfect souvenir during your trip? Head over to the World of Disney Store and find just about any Disney merchandise you can think of. Squeeze in one last Dole Whip at Swirls on the Water, or grab a Mickey’s Premium Ice Cream Bar to finish off your magical vacation.

Visit Other Disney Resorts

Checkout day is also a great day for exploring other Disney resorts. Hop on the monorail and explore Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Disney’s Polynesian Resort, and Disney’s Contemporary Resort. Or, head over to the Disney Skyliner and explore Disney’s Riviera Resort, Pop Century, Art of Animation, or Caribbean Beach Resort! You can sample some sweet treats, do some shopping, and maybe even figure out which resort you want to stay at during your next Disney vacation.

Spend The Morning At A Disney Park

Just can’t get enough of the Disney parks? If you have a park ticket for your checkout day then visit at rope drop and squeeze as much as you can out of your last Disney day! Be sure to gather your luggage either the night before or early in the morning so you don’t  have to stress about packing up, and bring a day bag with you complete with everything you might need. Snap some photos, ride some rides,  and enjoy the last day of your vacation!
