5 Fun Things To Do At DVC’s Grand Floridian

Grand Floridian

At one of Disney World’s most upscale resorts, you will find amenities, dining options and comfortable accommodations befitting its luxury theming. While you could easily spend a full day simply exploring the Grand Floridian’s beautiful buildings and classic details, don’t miss out on some of the unique and fun activities they offer!

1. Take a fireworks cruise

The Grand Floridian is one of only a few Disney resorts that offers a private fireworks cruise to see Magic Kingdom’s nighttime fireworks spectacular. For $399 plus tax, up to 10 guests can enjoy a private cruise across Seven Seas Lagoon on a 25-foot boat. The experience includes a boat captain to pilot your cruise, as well as assorted snacks and soft drinks. Enjoy “Happily Ever After” from the most unique vantage point–and without the crowds!

2. Rent a pool cabana

The Grand Floridian features two pools: the Beach Pool and the Courtyard Pool. The Courtyard Pool offers a quiet and leisurely setting; but if you’re looking for an entertaining pool with luxurious cabana rentals, then be sure to visit the Beach Pool.

The Grand Floridian’s pool cabana rentals include two padded lounge chairs, a padded sectional couch, a ceiling fan, a smart TV with cable service, a fruit basket, mini fridge stocked with water and soda, and plenty of plush towels. A dedicated cast member can also take your food and drink orders right from the comfort of your cabana! Reserve your cabana in advance by calling (407) WDW-PLAY or (407) 939-7529.

While you’re at the Beach Pool, take advantage of some of the poolside entertainment they offer! Cast members lead guests through fun activities like trivia, Mickey t-shirt tie-dying (additional cost applies), games and more (offerings vary by day).

3. Enjoy the spa

A Disney vacation can sometimes be just as exhausting as it is magical. What better way to recharge during your trip than by visiting the Grand Floridian Spa and getting pampered? Relax in a serene retreat while you enjoy one of their many revitalizing services, from massages to manicures and salon treatments.

4. Get a complimentary photo shoot

Few people know that the Grand Floridian is home to a hidden PhotoPass studio. When available, PhotoPass photographers can capture your picture-perfect portraits against a watercolor backdrop with a gold curtain trim. Occasionally, props are available such as Cinderella’s glass slipper! While there is not a set schedule for this offering, you can usually find a PhotoPass photographer here during busier traffic times (morning and evening) so be sure to keep an eye out during your visit.

5. Make your own Disney-scented candle at Basin White

If the iconic scents of Disney World make you feel nostalgic, then the Grand Floridian has the perfect souvenir for you. At Basin White, you can make your own candle using paraffin wax scents in a glass candle jar. The scents are themed to the resorts and many attractions in Disney World, such as “Orange Groves,” “Fijian Flight,” “Sweet Shop,” “Isn’t It Grand” and more. You can mix-and-match the scents to create a custom candle that is sure to remind you of your vacation!
