How To Spend Your Downtime at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Hollywood Studios

Disney’s Hollywood Studios can be a busy park for many guests. With so many attractions and intricately themed areas to visit, it’s easy to spend the majority of your day jumping from attraction to attraction. However, even the busiest of guests will find themselves with some downtime during their days at the Disney parks. So if you find yourself with some extra free time during your stay then check out our list of ideas on how to spend your downtime at Hollywood Studios.

Spend Time Shopping

Disney’s Hollywood Studios is home to some incredible stores. Guests who are Star Wars fans will especially enjoy the shopping in Galaxy’s Edge. Here you can find anything and everything Star Wars, and you can even reserve immersive experiences like building your own lightsaber and putting together a droid. Toy Story Land is home to Jessie’s Trading Post where you can find Toy Story clothing, toys, and souvenirs for folks back home.

Enjoy Snacks and Coffee

If you find yourself with some extra time then what better way to spend it than snacking? The Trolley Car Cafe is Hollywood Studio’s full-service Starbucks that also serves delicious treats and desserts. At The Trolley Car Cafe you can find the famous Carrot Cake Cookie that so many guests love. If you find yourself with extra time in Galaxy’s Edge then grab a legendary Blue or Green Milk at the Milk Stand. Woody’s Lunchbox in Toy Story Land is where you can find Lunch Box Tarts and Totchos, a fan favorite of many repeat guests.

Take Time to Explore and Meet Characters

Hollywood Studios is full of details which makes it a fun park to explore! One of my favorite areas to spend time in is the Muppets plaza near Muppet Vision 3D. I love the Miss Piggy fountain and all of the details surrounding it. If you continue traveling down the street you will eventually come across a Snowman statue and other little details!

Hollywood Studios also has several opportunities for guests to meet their favorite characters. Olaf has his very own meet and greet near For the First Time In Forever: A Frozen Singalong Celebration. Pixar pals like Mr. and Mrs. Incredible, Frozone, Edna Mode, and Sulley greet at Pixar Plaza. Disney Junior pals like Vampirina meet in Animation Courtyard and Chewbacca and Darth Vader greet nearby at Star Wars Launch Bay. Classic Disney characters like Minnie and Mickey greet at Commissary Lane, while Toy Story character and the Green Army Men parade through Toy Story Land.

Ride the Skyliner

Hollywood Studios is a stop on the Disney Skyliner which can be a fun attraction in itself! Guests with extra time might enjoy taking a detour from the park to ride the Skyliner. Disney’s Skyliner route takes guests to Disney’s Riviera Resort, Caribbean Beach Resort, Art of Animation Resort, Pop Century Resort, and even EPCOT. The Skyliner is a fun ride with great views, and guests can even disembark at the one of the resorts to look around and explore.
