Each day counts during your vacation to Disney World! The day you check-in to your Disney resort can be just as magical and fulfilling as any other day of your trip. There are several ways to make your arrival day at Disney World fun and enjoyable. Here are some ideas on how you can spend your arrival day at Disney World!

Check-In and Leave Your Bags

With Disney’s mobile check-in you can check-in remotely and be notified via text when your room is ready to enter. You no longer have to visit the front desk at all, thanks to your My Disney Experience app connecting any Magic Bands listed on your account to your room key! This saves you time during your arrival day as you don’t have to wait in any lines and go through a check-in process. If you arrive early in the day and your room isn’t ready for you yet, you can leave your luggage with the concierge until your room is available. The concierge will either hold it for you until you are ready to retrieve it, or they will hand-deliver it to your room. Either way, you don’t have to worry about carrying your luggage around with you during your arrival day!

Shopping at Disney Springs

Arrival days are the perfect days for shopping at Disney Springs. Disney Springs is Disney’s massive outdoor shopping center that is filled with designer stores, Disney stores, restaurants, bars, and so much more. After you drop your bags off at your resort you can take a bus to Disney Springs, or a boat if you are staying at DVC’s Old Key West. Disney Springs is a great place to be when you need to fill up your day, and you can shop for all your friends and family back home and not have to spend time doing so at the parks.

Fun at a Disney Waterpark

If you are looking for some more excitement during your arrival day you could always spend time visiting a Disney waterpark. Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon are Disney waterparks that have water-fun for the whole family. Both water parks offer one-day tickets for $74 dollars per adult. The water parks typically operate from 10am-5pm, so if you are arriving to Disney World early this is a great way to spend your day while you wait for your room to be ready. Be sure to pack a small day-bag with your swim gear and sunscreen so you can drop your luggage off at your resort but still have everything you need to enjoy the water parks.

Enjoy Your Resort

With all the hustle and bustle of a Disney vacation it can be hard to find time to really enjoy your resort. Your arrival day is a great opportunity to walk around your resort and really soak in the atmosphere and get to know where you are staying. There are several recreational activities to enjoy at DVC resorts including Community Halls, pools with waterslides, basketball courts, bike rentals, and even sandy beaches on the resorts near Bay Lake. Taking your arrival day to explore your resort is a great way to begin your busy week at the Disney parks!

Have Dinner at Your Resort

DVC resorts are home to several incredible restaurants and dining experiences. What better way to kick off your vacation than with a sit-down meal at your resort? Some of our favorite restaurants at DVC resorts are Ohana at Disney’s Polynesian, Steakhouse 71 at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, Olivia’s Cafe at Old Key West, and Sanaa at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge- Kidani Village.
