One of the perks of staying at a Disney Resort Hotel is the option to choose a MagicBand or MagicBand+ before your arrival. Whether you book direct, use DCV points, or rent DVC points, guests will see the option to choose MagicBands in their resort reservation where they can browse available designs and purchase for a discounted price. While not necessary for your Disney vacation, MagicBands add convenience to your stay, acting as your room key, park ticket, Lighting Lane pass, and even form of payment if a credit card is linked to the account.
Earlier this year, the Walt Disney Company announced that a similar accessory to MagicBand+ would roll out to the Disney Cruise Line fleet. Named DisneyBand+, due to licensing limitations in other countries, Disney Cruise Line’s band also conveniently serves as your boarding pass, stateroom key, Kids Club access, and form of payment for purchases made on board. Besides the added functionality, DisneyBand+ lights up and vibrates, like the MagicBand+, creating special interactions on the ship. DisneyBand+ is also waterproof allowing you to wear it all day during water sports and is rechargeable.
DisneyBand+ is now available for pre-purchase before embarkation on select ships! Those with itineraries on the Wish and Fantasy can now preorder DisneyBand+ for their travel party up to 11 days before sailing. View available designs under “My Reservations”, including models exclusive to Disney Cruise Line. As long as your reservation is paid in full, choose and even customize your DisneyBand+ to have them sent to your home before sailing.
It is important to note that pre-arrival orders are only available to guests who have a valid U.S. shipping address and whose vacation on the Wish or Fantasy is paid in full. The option to preorder DisneyBand+ will appear under “My Reservations” in your account no more than 45 days before sailing. The timeline for when DisneyBand+ will be released for the other Disney Cruise Ships, the Dream, Wonder, and Magic, has not yet been announced.
If you miss the window to preorder your DisneyBand+ and you still wish to utilize a Disneyband+ during your sailing, limited quantities will be available for purchase onboard the Wish and Fantasy! Also, if you have already obtained a MagicBand+ from a Disney Park or Resort before embarkation, your MagicBand+ has the ability to serve as your boarding pass, stateroom key, and form of payment if linked correctly to your Disney Cruise Line account.
