Due to the high demand of the holiday season, temporary changes begin today for Genie+ pay-per-ride selections. When Genie+ was announced, guests noticed that some of the high demand attractions were not included in the standard price for Genie+ and were instead pay-per-ride. However, some of these high demand rides will be included in the standard Genie+ purchase from today, December 19th, 2021, until January 3rd, 2022.
One attraction from every Walt Disney World Park has been added to the purchase of Genie+. They are as followed:
- Space Mountain – Magic Kingdom
- Frozen Ever After – Epcot
- Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway – Disney’s Hollywood Studios
- Expedition Everest – Disney’s Animal Kingdom
This temporary change to Genie+ only applies to Walt Disney World, with no changes occurring to Disneyland Resort’s Genie+ app. Guests have been getting used to the new Genie+ and Lightning Lane rules since its debut in October. Disney is still fine tuning parts of the Genie+ program to provide the best experience possible.
With this change only 4 rides are not included in the purchase of Genie+. These are:
- Seven Dwarfs Mine Train – Magic Kingdom
- Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure – Epcot
- Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance – Disney’s Hollywood Studios
- Flight of Passage – Disney’s Animal Kingdom
This temporary change may lead to some big monetary savings, since guests who wish to use the Lightning Lane will only need to purchase Genie+ for $15, opposed to paying per ride, per person. Those extra fees can really add up on a family vacation, so this news is bound to bring holiday cheer to guests visiting Walt Disney World in the following weeks.
