At Animal Kingdom Lodge you can start your morning in a very unique way. Early morning is the best time to get out onto a viewing platform, or step out onto your balcony, and watch the savannah animals below. The animals are the most active in the mornings. This is a special opportunity that you only have while staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge so take your time and soak in the beautiful view.
After you take some time enjoying Animal Kingdom Lodge’s magnificent creatures you will probably find yourself searching for a meal. If you are staying at Kidani Village, the easiest way to grab breakfast is by heading down to Sanaa which is transformed into a quick-service breakfast spot during the morning hours. If you are staying at Jambo House, then The Mara is a great quick-service breakfast location for you. Both breakfast spots offer breakfast basics and classics including the iconic Mickey waffle.
After breakfast you should take advantage of the morning weather and spend some time sightseeing the resort. Near the main pool area you can find several animals to view such as flamingos, and if you have little ones with you there is also a very nice playground onsite.
The afternoon is the perfect time to get in the pool. Animal Kingdom Lodge’s main pool features a zero-depth entry and a 67 foot-long waterslide. A hot tub is adjacent as well as a small wading pool for the youngest swimmers. Kidani Village has a newly upgraded pool as well, featuring a 128 foot-long waterslide and an intricate water playground for children.
Sanaa is a fantastic spot for lunch. This African-style restaurant features hearty flavors and intricate dishes. The bread service is a fan-favorite and consists of several types of naan as well as assorted hummus dips. The best part about eating at Sanaa is the incredible view of Kidani Village’s savannah with it’s floor-to-ceiling windows.
Once you are through with your lunch you can stop by Animal Kingdom Lodge’s Community Hall. Located in Kidani Village, the Community Hall is a great place to play games such as foosball or board games, rent DVDs for your room, play video games, and participate in daily crafts. If you or someone in your family is feeling extra creative, there are painting classes available near Jiko-The Cooking Place on Wednesdays for $35 per person.
As night begins to fall, the animals are going to become very active once again. This is a great time to grab a drink from Sanaa Lounge and take it out to the animal viewing area. You can also enjoy some shopping in Jambo House’s main lobby at Zawadi Marketplace. Pumbaa’s Fun and Games Arcade is also a must-do that is located near The Mara and a great nighttime activity.
