Walt Disney was a proud patriot, and evidence of this can be seen all throughout the Disney parks. However, the biggest celebration of patriotism is within Magic Kingdom’s Liberty Square. Liberty Square is an idealized version of America’s past, and is home to several unique attractions and entertainment as well as delicious dining opportunities. Liberty Square is one of the more unique lands within Magic Kingdom. Join us as we explore it together!
Attractions
The Hall of Presidents– Walt Disney appreciated American history, and The Hall of Presidents makes this apparent with its intriguing way of educating via storytelling. Audio-animatronics of all of the nation’s presidents take the stage to tell the story of America in their own words. The show lasts approximately 25 minutes.
The Haunted Mansion– This classic Disney attraction showcases some great Imagineering and storytelling. From the moment you step into the Haunted Mansion’s queue you are completely immersed in the attraction. Guests will board their ride vehicles and journey through the home of 999 “happy haunts”. While there is no violence or gore during this attraction, young guests might still be frightened by the dark and spooky atmosphere.
Liberty Belle Riverboat– Did you know that a fully functional steamboat operates from Liberty Square? The Liberty Belle takes guests throughout the Rivers of America and gives them some unique glimpses into the scenery of the park.
Food and Drink
Columbia Harbour House– This quick-service restaurant serves New England-style cuisine in a seafaring setting. Guests can enjoy Lobster Rolls, New England Seafood Boil, Fried Fish, as well as chicken strips for the land-lovers. Columbia Harbour House also currently serves a delicious Boston Creme Pie for dessert.
Sleepy Hollow-The Sleepy Hollow snack stand is a fan-favorite for breakfast items like the Fresh Fruit Waffle Sandwich with Hazelnut Spread, and the Mickey Waffles with powdered sugar. For lunch, guests can munch on the iconic turkey leg, as well as hand-dipped corn dogs.
Liberty Tree Tavern– This sit-down restaurant serves a classic American holiday meal consisting of turkey, mac n’ cheese, stuffing, pot roast, and mashed potatoes. This meal is served family-style, and is all-you-care-to-enjoy. Guests love the dining room that transports you back to the colonial-era.
Liberty Square Market- Looking for classic snacks? Liberty Square Market serves turkey legs, Mickey pretzels, hot dogs, and so much more!
Shopping
Memento Mori- This Haunted Mansion-themed gift shop is your one-stop-shop for everything spooky!
Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe- Who says you can’t shop for Christmas year-round? Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe sells ornaments, stockings, decorations, and apparel.
Liberty Square Portrait Gallery- Liberty Square Portrait Gallery is a unique outdoor shop selling one-of-a-kind artwork. Guests can have their caricature done, as well as custom silhouettes.
Entertainment and Other Experiences
The Liberty Tree- A tribute to The Liberty Tree in Boston can be found in Liberty Square. This 100-year old oak tree was transplanted to Disney property where it stands proudly to this day.
The Liberty Bell- A total replica of The Liberty Bell can be found near The Liberty Tree. Guests can take photos with the replica and read about the history of the bell.
The Pillory-A popular photo spot that dates back many years. The pillory is a fun spot to take a picture of your family.
