EPCOT has been inspiring its guests since 1982, and celebrating world culture, connection, and nature. EPCOT’s original spirit of educating guests in an entertaining way can still be seen throughout the park in attractions both new and old. Epcot has seen many changes throughout the years and has had some recent additions that have quickly become guests favorites. But there are still several attractions at EPCOT that have been operating for many decades. If you have an upcoming visit to Disney World then don’t skip the oldest attractions at EPCOT.
The American Adventure
Located in World Showcase’s America pavilion, The American Adventure is an audio-animatronic stage show that has been operating since the park’s opening year. This inspiring stage show tells the history of our nation through the words of Benjamin Franklin and Mark Twain. This show consists of an audio-animatronic cast, and uses incredible visual effects and stage transitions to tell the remarkable story of American history. The show is approximately 29 minutes long and runs periodically throughout the day.
Living with the Land
This fan-favorite attraction has been entertaining guests for several decades. Living with the Land is a slow-moving boat-ride attraction within The Land pavilion that explores agriculture and how humans have learned to utilize the land to its full potential. This attraction takes guests through one of EPCOT’s working greenhouses and explores farming techniques that are used throughout Disney World. There is also a special tour available for this attraction for an extra cost: Behind the Seeds.
Spaceship Earth
This attraction is located within the park’s icon. Spaceship Earth is another incredible display of audio-animatronics that seeks to educate guests on human progress and innovation. Spaceship Earth invites guests inside the iconic “EPCOT ball” as they board a time-traveling ride vehicle that allows them to witness significant historical events. Beginning with cavemen and ending with the invention of the computer, this attraction has been inspiring guests for several years.
Sea Base
This attraction is not only one of EPCOT’s greatest, but the world’s! Sea Base contains the largest manmade ocean environment on the planet, and guests have been exploring it since the 1980’s. While the attraction that exits into Sea Base has changed throughout the years, the incredible aquarium has remained fairly consistent. Guests can see rescued manatees, dolphins, sea turtles, sting rays, and several different varieties of fish and other aquatic creatures. Several enchanting extras are available at Sea Base as well, including diving excursions for those who have their scuba diving licenses, and dolphin meeting experiences. Sea Base is also home to Turtle Talk with Crush, an interactive show where guests are invited to interact with Crush and ask questions. If guests wish to experience Sea Base they can either enter the aquarium through its gift shop, or take the family-friendly dark-ride: The Seas with Nemo and Friends.
