How To Get From MCO To Your Disney Resort

Transportation is a breeze once you arrive on Disney property. But getting there from the airport isn’t as straightforward as it used to be now that Disney World’s complimentary airport transportation, The Magical Express, has been discontinued. Luckily, there are still several options for transportation to your resort for those flying into MCO or Orlando International Airport. Here are a few different ways to get to your Disney resort from MCO.

Mears Connect

When The Magical Express was in operation, Disney was actually partnering with Mears and their drivers. Mears busses still offer transportation to your Disney resort from MCO. Mears offers 24/7 service so there is no need to worry about delayed flights. One benefit to riding Mears is that you don’t have to worry about having enough space to store your luggage, as their busses have plenty of room in the undercarriage. Kids under three ride for free and the ride is priced at 13 dollars per child and 16 dollars per adult. You have the option to either choose standard or express, express  being a minimal wait and having direct service to all Disney resorts but at a higher price of 250 dollars per group of 4. The Mears shuttles are wheelchair and ADA compliant for your peace of mind, and customers can be assured that their driver is professionally trained and CDL certified. Guests who wish to travel to via Mears Connect should make a reservation online.

Uber or Lyft

Ride share services like Uber or Lyft can be good options for those who didn’t make a reservation prior to their trip or aren’t sure exactly when they will arrive to the airport or when they’ll want to leave their resort to return home. Uber or Lyft is also a great option for families who need to transport their children via car seats and aren’t comfortable with their little ones riding a bus without their seats. One downside to Uber or Lyft is that the prices vary depending on the time of day, how many drivers are out, and how high of demand there is for travel. It can also be tricky to travel this way if you have several people in your party.

Private Car Service or Limousine

There are several private car companies and services that you can take advantage of when traveling from MCO to your Disney resort. This option is great for families who have large parties, are tight on space, or just want a more private experience for traveling to their resort. Several limousine services run from MCO as well and specialize in servicing families traveling to Disney, making for great memories for your kids!

Rent a Car

Renting a car at MCO is perfect for those who plan on venturing off of Disney property at some point during their vacation. You can feel comfortable installing your own car seat or renting one, and you can even stop at a grocery store for some in-room refreshments for your trip. Renting a car is great if you wish to make a side trip to the beach, Universal, or even finish your stay at Disney’s Vero Beach Resort!
