Can’t Miss Classic Attractions at Disney’s Hollywood Studios for First Timers



Planning your first ever Disney vacation can be an exciting endeavor. First time guests should plan all resort and dining reservations in advance in order to make the most of their vacation, and things like your park schedule should also be planned. Some guests prefer to freestyle which attractions they will be experiencing during their trip but it is generally a good idea to gather a list of attractions you wish to prioritize. Disney’s Hollywood Studios is a fun park that is great for those who love Star Wars, Toy Story, film, and thrills. When planning your visit to Hollywood Studios here are just a few classic attractions to take note of that first-timers just can’t miss.

The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror

This iconic attraction towers over the rest, and stands out as a classic Hollywood Studios attraction that has stood the test of time. Originally opening in 1994, The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror is a thrill ride that first timers shouldn’t skip. This attraction is for guests 40 inches or taller and has an eerie theme based on the iconic television show: The Twilight Zone. Guests step into a real-life episode of this sci-fi thriller as they enter the abandoned Hollywood Tower Hotel and experience a malfunctioning elevator. Guests are dropped at random for a duration of 4 minutes; each ride through is different so you never know what you’re going to get.

Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway

This attraction only recently opened in 2020 but has very quickly become a classic and timeless attraction. Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway is for guests of all ages and takes guests on a whirlwind attempt at a picnic in the park. Join Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald, Daisy, and Pluto as they take you on an insane journey through their cartoon world. This attraction is not only entertaining and fun, but also showcases some incredible Imagineering.

Muppet Vision 3D

Did you know the Muppets are at Disney World? Muppet Vision 3D is a fun show located in Hollywood Studios that takes 3D effects and combines them with real-life effects. The Muppets are hosting you as a guest at Muppet Studios and chaos and hilarious antics ensue! This 3D show is for guests of all ages and lasts approximately 17 minutes.

Star Tours- The Adventures Continue

Most people plan on visiting Galaxy’s Edge during their visit to Hollywood Studios, but another classic Star Wars attraction is located just outside near Echo Lake. Star Tours- The Adventures Continue is a motion-simulator attraction featuring digital 3D video and several of your favorite Star Wars characters on an intergalactic chase. This attraction is randomized and will have over 250 variations after its update in 2024!

Toy Story Mania

Toy Story Mania is located within Toy Story Land, and has become a classic fan-favorite attraction since its debut in 2008. This attraction is a wild ride through various carnival-style games that the toys have set up. Woody and the gang have worked hard to put these midway games together, and guests love competing for the highest score. This attraction utilizes 3D glasses as well as 4D effects like air canons and water spraying. Whoever scores the most can have their name on the leaderboard!
