Exploring EPCOT’s World Discovery



Cosmic Rewind

So many guests love EPCOT and consider it to be their favorite Disney park. It is easy to see why, with EPCOT’s many attractions and experiences that celebrate human life and connection. EPCOT is a park that is divided into several sections: World Nature, World Celebration, World Showcase, and World Discovery. Each section brings with it unique attractions and experiences that all work together to form what makes EPCOT so unique. EPCOT’s World Discovery is home to many attractions and experiences celebrating science, technology, and mankind’s progress and creativity. Continue reading as we explore EPCOT’s World Discovery.

Attractions

World Discovery is home to several exciting attractions. The newest attraction being Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. This attraction is a roller-coaster thrill-ride featuring the latest and greatest of Disney Imagineering. Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind features your favorite Marvel superheroes like Starlord, Rocket, Groot, and Gamora as they lead you on an intergalactic adventure. This roller coaster is unique because of its Awesome Mix soundtrack and backwards launch. This attraction is for guests 42 inches or taller.

Mission: SPACE is another attraction within World Discovery that takes thrill rides to a new level. This attraction is a flight simulator to the planet Mars. Guests can choose either the Orange Mission experience for guests 44 inches or taller which features intense G-force upon launch and reentry, or go for a lighter ride experience with the Green mission for guests 40 inches or taller featuring more gentle motions and no G-force.

Test Track is yet another unique and thrilling attraction within World Discovery. Guests are invited to design their own concept car and then put it through the test with rough terrain, high speeds, and fast acceleration. This attraction is for guests 4o inches or taller.

Dining

World Discovery is the home of Space 220, an incredibly immersive sit-down dining experience. Guests dining at Space 220 begin their journey by entering an “elevator” to space. This “elevator” features weather patterns in real time so guests truly feel as if they are ascending to space. Once guests reach 220 miles into the atmosphere they arrive at the restaurant. Space 220 features large “windows” into space making for an incredibly immersive dining experience. The menu at this restaurant features themed meals like Rocket Flame Seared Tuna and Space Pad Thai.

Shopping

There are several places to shop throughout this area of EPCOT including Treasures of Xandar which features Guardians of the Galaxy merchandise, Mission: SPACE Cargo Bay selling space-themed products as well as ride-exclusive merchandise, and Test Track SIMporium which is full of car-related merch as well as model cars.

Entertainment and Other Experiences

EPCOT’s famous JAMMitors can be found wandering throughout this area from time-to-time. The JAMMitors are percussionists that make use of clean-up equipment in order to rock out with guests!

A playground for small children can be found within World Discovery near Test Track and Creations Shop. This playground features traditional equipment and plenty of areas for parents to watch. This is a great area for little ones to burn off some energy!
