Magic Kingdom is well-known for its family-friendly atmosphere and keeping true to Walt’s vision of an amusement park that guests of all ages can equally enjoy. However, this doesn’t mean that Magic Kingdom lacks thrills! Magic Kingdom is home to several incredible thrill rides that will satisfy any adrenaline-lover in your family. Tron Lightcycle Run

Magic Kingdom’s newest attraction is also one of Disney World’s most thrilling. Tron Lightcycle Run is a roller coaster unlike anything you have ever seen before. Guests will board their Lightcycle ride vehicles and launch into the grid of Tron. This roller coaster seats guests in a lying down prone position for the duration of the ride, and reaches a top speed of 60 miles per hour making it one of the fastest roller coasters in all of Disney. Tron Lightcycle Run has a height requirement of 48 inches or taller which make it one of the more height-restrictive attractions in the park. This thrill ride is not for the faint of heart!

Space Mountain

One of Magic Kingdom’s classic thrill rides is Space Mountain. This attraction first opened its doors in 1975 and has been thrilling guests ever since. Space Mountain is a roller coaster with sudden drops and tight turns and takes place entirely in the dark. This thrilling attraction uses lighting and other special effects to make it seem as if guests are being launched throughout outer-space. Space Mountain has a height requirement of 44 inches or taller, and guests should be aware that this ride can be a bit rough at times!

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad

Another attraction that is considered a Disney classic is Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. This roller coaster was imagineered by Walt Disney himself and first debuted at Disneyland on its opening day in 1955. The attraction was so popular that it was constructed at Magic Kingdom and opened with the park. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is the “wildest ride in the wilderness” and takes guests on a runaway train through an abandoned mine. This coaster has tight turns, several drops, and excellent scenery along the way! Big Thunder Mountain Railroad has a height requirement of 40 inches or taller.

Seven Dwarfs Mine Train

Fantasyland’s most thrilling attraction is Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. This charming thrill ride takes guests through the diamond mine as seen in Snow White, and guests are entertained by the dwarfs at work before plunging down a hill and racing through the track. This roller coaster is incredibly smooth and perfect for those who enjoy thrills but not so much being thrown about. Seven Dwarfs Mine Train has a height requirement of 38 inches or taller, making it the perfect family roller coaster! The best part about Seven Dwarfs Mine Train? The cars sway back and forth independently of one another which adds a greater dynamic to the attraction and an overall smoother ride. Don’t forget to smile for the on-ride photo!
