The Tower Studio and Duo Studio: A Solo Traveler’s Dream

Disneyland Hotel

As a frequent solo traveler to the Disney Parks, my love for Disney runs especially deep. However, my one pet peeve is having wasted space in my hotel rooms. When Disney introduced the concepts of the Tower and Duo Studios, I was filled with excitement. It was the perfect amount of comfortable space with the luxurious atmosphere of Disney. After reading this article, I hope you are convinced to take more solo trips to the parks while staying in the Duo and Tower Studios.

What is A Tower Studio?

A Tower Studio is a delightful concept of a room at Walt Disney World’s newest resort, the Riviera. This concept launched in 2019 and has been a hit with guests ever since. At only 255 square feet, Tower Studios at Disney’s Riviera Resort are perfect for solo travelers. These rooms include a kitchenette (with mini-fridge and microwave), drawers, an ottoman, a closet, and a discreet pull-down queen-size bed behind the couch.

A Rivera Tower Studio has a perfectly sized balcony, luxurious bathroom, and gigantic flat-screen television with on-demand programming. The most stunning feature of the room is the elegant design. Outside, you will discover a spacious balcony where you can see the Skyliner route to Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Spaceship Earth. At night, the real star of this room emerges. Tower Studios have the perfect view of the fireworks shows at Disney’s EPCOT Center. The room is worth it just for the sight of the fireworks alone. After all, what’s more perfect than returning to your room to relax and watch the fireworks in ultimate comfort?

What is a Duo Studio?

The Duo Studio and Duo Studio Preferred Rooms opened in late 2023 as part of the Villas at the Disneyland Resort Hotel. There are 38 Duo Studios, ideal rooms for the Disneyland Resort Hotel solo guests.  The rooms are Jungle Book themed and come equipped with everything that a solo traveler might need.

At 250 square feet, the Duo Studio is the smallest room at any of the Disney Resort Collection Hotels. However, please do not let that scare you. The room is small but highly functional, and everything is laid out quite nicely. The Duo Studio has a sofa that converts into a bed. You can pull down this queen-sized Murphy bed at night and tuck it away during the day to maximize the space. Each side of the bed has two regular outlets: a USB-C outlet and a USB-A outlet. The bathroom is luxuriously modern, with one sink, a toilet, and a stand-up shower. There was plenty of countertop space, and the shower had a bench, too. I can hardly wait for my next stay!
