The Seas With Nemo and Friends: EPCOT World Nature’s Best

The color blue represents not only the sky but the majestic sea, which is a symbol of serenity and inspiration. If you love our big, blue ocean world, there is a sea-inspired attraction in Walt Disney World, that relaxes all who visit. This attraction/pavilion is The Seas with Nemo and Friends. In this article, I will be reviewing the peacefulness of the ride, the marine conservation efforts, and captivating details that make this location one-of-a-kind.

Ride Description

Located in World Nature, at EPCOT, and based on Pixar’s Finding Nemo, The Seas with Nemo and Friends is an omnimover style ride. What is an omnimover ride? To put it simply, it is “a chain of vehicles all connected together, rather than individual cars” on the track. The ride system provides a “motion-picture-type experience by controlling the line of sight (The Haunted Mansion & Spaceship Earth are omnimover rides).” However, this attraction is fun for all, as it has no height and no age restrictions. It is not thrilling or scary, so children will not come out crying (Haunted Mansion, I’m looking at you). Aboard the “clamobile,” you will see an array of bright and colorful scenes based on the Finding Nemo film, detailed animatronics, and adorable moments that will have you smiling throughout its entirety. It’s a great ride to chill and take a break from the Florida heat. Another huge perk is that the queue is typically short, so even on busy days the maximum wait time is about 35 minutes.

Features Of The Location

After discussing the main ride, one might believe there is nothing more to do in this location. False! After deboarding your “clamobile,” you are immersed in an oceanic paradise! There is a gigantic 5.7-million-gallon saltwater aquarium just outside. In this aquarium, you and your family can observe real-life clown fish, blue tangs, sharks (yes, sharks!), manta rays, manatees, sea turtles and dolphins! If you love marine wildlife, this is the place for you. Apart from being magnificent in its size, observing the blue water and the creatures it holds relaxes the mind (The aquarium and marine exhibits can be a haven for those experiencing anxiety, helping them feel calm). Plus, there is an educational, free scavenger hunt for kids (or adults) to solve clues, collect stickers, and learn some fun facts. A play-area themed to Bruce the shark’s sub-house, is also offered for smaller children.

Furthermore, there is an extra attraction in The Seas with Nemo and Friends pavilion called Turtle Talk with Crush. Here, you enter a room where adults sit in the back and children sit crisscross-apple sauce, on the floor. They all view a huge screen when suddenly, Crush, the lovable Sea turtle from Finding Nemo, appears and allows humans to ask him questions. Aimed at kids, this is a quirky and hilarious attraction because children ask the funniest questions. However, adults can chime in, too!

Pro tip: ask Crush how many hatchlings he has, his answer will crack you up! Photo: Disney.

Marine Conservation

This pavilion is special because there are tours you can do (for an additional cost) in the aquarium that teach you about these animals and the global issues affecting ocean life. EPCOT Seas Adventures- DiveQuest, is one of these tours. It lasts 2 hours and lets SCUBA-certified individuals swim with the 2,000+ sea creatures in the huge tank! However, if you are not SCUBA-certified, you can try the Dolphins in Depth tour, a 2-hour experience that lets you interact with bottlenose dolphins. Lastly, the 3-hour Discovering Marine life Conservation program (pricing is for groups up to 10) helps students learn about marine species and conservation efforts being made to protect wildlife. Moreover, in the Sea Base Alpha gift shop, you can help save the ocean by giving a voluntary donation.

Throughout this stunning attraction and pavilion, you will experience its hidden gems, marvel at the beauty of oceanic creatures and learn how protecting them benefits our planet. The Seas with Nemo and Friends has it all: a ride, attractions, immersive experiences, and cool activities for guests, which sets it apart from other sections of the park. Therefore, dear reader, I hope this article encourages you to visit the best of EPCOT.
