There are several roller coaster attractions throughout Disneyland and California Adventure that range from mild family-style to intense thrill rides. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad – Disneyland

This classic Disney attraction is located in Frontierland. With a height requirement of 40 inches or taller, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is a family roller coaster that features some rough terrain and darkness which adds to the thrill level. This ride takes guests on a wild ride through the wilderness and along an old railroad track that passes waterfalls, falling boulders, and canyons.

Chip ‘n’ Dale’s Gadget Coaster – Disneyland

Located in Toontown at Disneyland, Chip ‘n’ Dale’s Gadget Coaster is a low-speed, gentle, family-style roller coaster. With a height requriement of just 35 inches or taller, this coaster is the perfect first for those little thrill-seekers in your family. Each ride vehicle is designed to comfortably fit one adult and one child.

Space Mountain – Disneyland

This classic Disney attraction has variations throughout the world, and Disneyland’s version of this attraction should not be skipped. Space Mountain is a thrilling adventure through the dark space. The darkness of this attraction makes it one of the more thrilling coasters in Disneyland. With a height requriement of 40 inches, this attraction is great for even the younger thrill-seekers in your party. Unlike the Disney World version of this attraction, guests are seated side-by-side.

Matterhorn Bobsleds – Disneyland

This iconic Disneyland coaster resides within Fantasyland. With a height requriement of 42 inches, this coaster can get very bumpy! Guests are taken on a wild bobsled journey through the Matterhorn mountain. Watch out for the Abominable Snowman during your journey on this one-of-a-kind coaster. The very first to ever be built at Disneyland!

Radiator Springs Racers – California Adventure

California Adventure is home to Cars Land where Radiator Springs Racers resides. This unique attraction has a height requirement of 40 inches making it a great family thrill-ride attraction. Guests board a car from the film and race each other through dessert terrain modeled after the film. This attraction features banked turns and fast straightaways.

Incredicoaster – California Adventure

This high-speed thrilling coaster features a height requirement of 48 inches or taller, as well as a launch start and inversions. Guests will race alongside the Incredibles characters during this fast and wild ride located on Pixar Pier.

Goofy’s Sky School – California Adventure

Located in Paradise Gardens Park at California Adventure, Goofy’s Sky School is a wacky roller coaster that takes guests through Goofy’s flight school. Featuring 1,200 feet of track, this coaster is a wild ride for riders both young and old.
