The Oldest Attractions at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Since Disney’s Hollywood Studios first opened in 1989, it has been celebrating movies, Hollywood, and characters. This park has seen several changes throughout the years with the addition of Toy Story Land and Galaxy’s Edge. While several attractions that opened with the park have closed, there are still many attractions that remain. Some attractions that have been operating for years have become favorites of guests, and it is easy to see why! These older attractions are entertaining and showcase some great Disney Imagineering. If you are planning a visit to Disney World then be sure to not skip the oldest attractions at Hollywood Studios.

Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular

This attraction first opened shortly after the park’s opening day in 1989. Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular is a jaw-dropping show featuring real and incredible stunts that were featured in the Indiana Jones films. This stunt show includes pyrotechnics, stunt demonstrations, and lots of action!

Star Tours: The Adventures Continue

While this attraction has seen significant changes in recent years, the attraction itself has been operating since 1989. Star Tours: The Adventures Continue, is a motion-simulator ride that transports guests throughout the galaxy and into the world of Star Wars. The attraction received a makeover many years ago and was updated to include scenes from all modern Star Wars films and television shows. The ride experience is randomized, so you get a new experience each time you board the attraction.

Muppet Vision 3D

One of Jim Henson’s final projects has a home within Hollywood Studios. Muppet Vision 3D is a 3D attraction utilizing 4D effects that tells a story of the Muppets wacky hijinks. Guests can spot all their favorite Muppets on the screen, as well as audio-animatronics and live costumed characters.

Beauty and the Beast Live on Stage

This Broadway-style stage show featuring live singing and dancing has been delighting guests since 1991. This show delivers high-quality performances and tells the story of Beauty and the Beast. This show takes place in an outdoor amphitheater, with performances taking place periodically throughout the day. The show is approximately 25 minutes-long.

The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror

One of the most thrilling attractions in Hollywood Studios has been operating since 1994. The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror is an attraction that allows guests to step into their very own episode of The Twilight Zone. This attraction is a drop-style ride, however the attraction sequence is randomized each time so you never know what you are going to get!

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster

This roller coaster has been launching guests 0-60mph since 1999. This coaster stars Aerosmith as guests are given a high-speed super-stretch limo to make it to the show with backstage passes. This coaster is fast, and features 3 inversions all while zooming to Aerosmith’s greatest hits.
