While planning a visit to Disney World you might have come across some information about special ticketed events. Disney World’s Magic Kingdom hosts a few ticketed events throughout the year. These events are quite special for guests and involve extra park hours, special shows, attractions, exclusive food, and more. But what are Magic Kingdom’s ticketed events and how can you participate?

What Are Special Ticketed Events And What Do They Cost?

Throughout the year, Magic Kingdom hosts a few special ticketed events. Two of these events are seasonal for Christmas and Halloween, and one of these events occurs occasionally throughout the year. These special ticketed events have a cost that is separate from regular park admission. If you plan on arriving to the park prior to the start time of the event, you will also need a valid park admission in order to enter. The cost for these events varies depending on the event and the time of year during which it takes place, but generally prices range between $150-$160 per adult or child.

Special ticketed events for Magic Kingdom are beneficial for those who are looking for a unique experience during their vacation, returning guests who wish to try something new, and guests who would like to take advantage of lower crowds and wait-times as these events operate at a lower park capacity than normal operating hours. If you are interested in purchasing tickets to a special event, be sure to make the purchase as soon as tickets are up for sale (60 days prior to day of event) as these events can and will sell out.

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party

One of Magic Kingdom’s most popular ticketed events is Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party which occurs between August and October each year. This event begins after dark with entry beginning at 7pm, and concludes at midnight. Magic Kingdom is decorated to Halloween perfection with photo opportunities around every corner. Special entertainment can be seen throughout the night with the Boo To You Parade, Not-So-Spooky Fireworks Spectacular, Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular Stage Show, and The Cadaver Dans Barbershop Quartet. Party-exclusive food and beverages are served at various food stands and restaurants throughout the park, and event merchandise is sold.

Perhaps the most exciting detail about Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is that guests are encouraged to dress up, even adults! You’ll even find your favorite Disney characters dressed up in their Halloween costumes, and you can meet characters like Disney villains that you can’t meet otherwise. Trick-or-treat stations are scattered throughout the park and are available for guests of all-ages. Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is an event that cannot be missed for those who love all things Halloween.

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party

Another exciting ticketed event is Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. This event occurs throughout November and December as Magic Kingdom is lit-up and decorated for the holiday season. Beginning at 7pm and ending at midnight, guests will enjoy special entertainment like Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks Show, Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade, and Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration Stage Show. Complimentary cookies can be enjoyed throughout the park as well as unique Photopass opportunities, and meet-and-greets with your favorite characters dressed up in their best holiday outfits. Party-exclusive merchandise is available for purchase as well as party-exclusive snacks and beverages. Space Mountain and Jungle Cruise operate under a special Holiday-overlay.

Disney After Hours at Magic Kingdom Park

From January to April, Magic Kingdom will run an event called Disney After Hours. This event is exactly as it sounds: a unique opportunity to enjoy Magic Kingdom after the gates close. The event begins at 10pm and doesn’t end until 1am. While the event doesn’t officially begin until 10pm, guests are invited to enter the park as early as 7pm.  Park capacity is greatly reduced for this event and guests are able to ride several attractions with little to no wait at all. To make the event even sweeter, guests are able to indulge in complimentary ice cream, popcorn, and select bottled beverages. This event is a great opportunity for guests to enjoy Magic Kingdom with a lower crowd and stay out late!
