How to Spend a Midday Break at DVC’s Old Key West Resort

One of the many benefits of staying onsite at a Disney resort is the ability to quickly and easily return to your resort at any moment. Many guests enjoy taking midday breaks at their resort so they can rest during the hottest times of the day and then return to the parks in the early evening. Disney transportation makes it convenient to return to your resort whenever you wish, and many guests find there to be a benefit in resting during their vacation, especially for small children. Disney’s Old Key West Resort is a DVC resort that is full of activities and opportunities to relax. Guests of Old Key West Resort might find themselves wishing for even more time to spend at the resort. Play In The Pool

Old Key West is home to four incredible pools. The main pool, or Sandcastle Pool, features a sandcastle waterslide that twists and turns for 125 feet. A kiddie pool, whirlpool spa, and sandy playground are located nearby. Three leisure pools are located throughout the property, each featuring their own whirlpool spa. The leisure pools are quiet and perfect for relaxing, while the Sandcastle pool is lively and full of fun and various poolside activities!

Spend Time At The Community Hall

Disney’s Old Key West Resort is home to a Community Hall. This DVC resort feature allows guests to have a place to cool down and relax. Community Halls are a place to play board games, various tabletop games like foosball, rent DVDs, meet other guests, and participate in daily crafts or activities. Grab A Bite To Eat

There is no shortage of good food at Old Key West with Good’s Food To-go, a quick-service restaurant that is located near the main pool. Good’s Food To-Go serves meals that are sure to fill your belly during your midday break like burgers, hot dogs, sandwiches, salads, and cold-brew coffees.

If you are in need of something a bit more hearty for your meal break then check out Olivia’s Cafe. This sit-down restaurant serves a great southern brunch with favorites like buttermilk fried chicken, Banana Bread French Toast, and Crab Cakes Benedict.

Guests can also grab a drink at Gurgling Suitcase Libations & Spirits. This bar is located near the main pool area and serves a variety of specialty cocktails and beverages on tap. Gurling Suitcase also has an appetizer menu featuring Shrimp Cocktail, Fried Pickles, Chips and dip, and more.

Enjoy Recreational Activities

Other ideas for spending your midday break at Old Key West include Surrey bike rentals, guided fishing excursions, playing pickleball, walking along the 1.37 mile path traveling throughout the resort, or exploring one of the three playgrounds on property. Of course, guests always have the option of returning to their villa and taking a relaxing nap or tv break!
