How To Decide The Length Of Your Disney Vacation

If you are considering a trip to Disney World then you might find yourself asking a very common question: how many days should I spend there? There is no perfect answer to this question as vacation needs and desires vary from family to family. There are several things to keep in mind when determining the length of your Disney vacation; here are just a few things to consider when making this decision for your family.

How Many Park Days Do You Desire?

Disney World consists of 4 theme parks, each with their own unique attractions, dining, and magical experiences. Each park deserves to be experienced and so most guests recommend scheduling at least 4 days during your vacation to visit each park once. However, many guests find that one day per park isn’t enough time to get through everything on their itinerary. This is especially true for first time guests, and guests who wish to experience sit-down dining and any enchanting extras. More than one day per Disney park is preferable for many guests, but if that isn’t possible for your family then consider scheduling two days at the park that is most important for you to experience fully. Magic Kingdom and EPCOT are both large parks with several attractions, and many consider them to be multi-day parks.

Will You Be Visiting Disney Waterparks?

Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom are Disney World’s main theme parks, but Disney World is also home to two fantastic waterparks. Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon are waterparks that are packed with family-friendly water fun, and many guests prefer to schedule an extra day into their vacation dedicated them. If you are interested in the Disney waterparks then you may want to lengthen your stay by one or two days, depending on how much time you wish to spend there. The waterparks are not often open at the same time, but if they are both operating during your vacation then you might want to extend your trip to visit them both.

Do You Wish For A Rest Day?

Many guests prefer to schedule a day of rest into their vacation in order to really enjoy their resort and their time at Disney. A day of rest near the middle of your stay can be beneficial for any body aches you might have from walking, and if you have small children then it is always a good idea to spend a day relaxing at the resort and taking advantage of the pools. Scheduling a rest day into your vacation can also give you time to explore other resorts, or treat yourself at one of Disney’s spas.

Will You Be Spending Time at Disney Springs?

Disney Springs is Disney World’s large shopping and entertainment center. Disney Springs is full of bars, restaurants, and lots of shopping opportunities. You can easily spend an entire day here exploring and having fun. If Disney Springs is something that interests you then you might want to consider adding an additional day to your vacation in order to fully enjoy the experience.
