Guests who have been eagerly awaiting to opening of Guardians Of The Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind now know one more crucial detail of the attraction. The height requirement for Guardians Of The Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind has been unveiled! Guests 42 inches and taller will be able to ride this long awaited Epcot attraction when it opens.
This is how Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind’s height requirement measures up to some of the other coasters in Walt Disney World.
- Seven Dwarfs Mine Train: 38 inches
- Slinky Dog: 38 inches
- Big Thunder mountain: 40 inches
- Expedition Everest: 44 inches
As you can see, this new attraction will be on the higher end of height requirement for Disney, meaning the thrill is sure to be amazing. Adults are sure to love this coaster, and let’s be honest Epcot needed a big thrill ride, but it does mean that this attraction won’t be appropriate for younger children. If you are planning on enjoying Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind and have small children, you’ll definitely need to utilize Disney’s rider switch option.
If you need a little more to get your excited about this new addition to Epcot, Disney’s official description of Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is as followed:
“Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is a family-friendly adventure, featuring a totally new type of roller coaster experience we’re developing just for this attraction – it’s a story-coaster that rotates 360 degrees so you’re always focused on all the action as you help the Guardians save the galaxy. Not only that, but Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind will also feature the first reverse launch on a coaster in Disney history and is one of the longest enclosed coasters in the world. It’s a massive experience that will match the scale and adventure of the Guardians of the Galaxy films.
As part of the ongoing transformation of EPCOT, we’re infusing this park we love and cherish with more ways to dream, to be inspired and to connect with our world – or other galaxies, in this case. Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is going to be a big step in that direction, and we can’t wait for you to experience it.”
This attraction is going to be unveiled sometime in the Summer of 2022 with rumors floating around that it will even open on Memorial Day Weekend, but the official date has still not been announced.
This will be the first Marvel themed attraction in Walt Disney World. Disneyland Resort has added many Marvel features to it already, including a Guardians of the Galaxy attraction, Guardians of the Galaxy- Mission: BREAKOUT, which is one of the most popular rides in Disney California Adventure. If history repeats itself, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind will wow guests and leave them wanting more. Maybe Disney will be inspired to add even more Marvel touches to the Walt Disney World theme parks as well.
Will you be riding Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind when it opens? Are you excited for the height requirement or disappointed? Let us know in the comments below!
My favorite ride is Rocking Roller Coaster. Nothing beats the adrenaline rush from that ride. Flight of passage can be a close runner up as a favorite. It definitely takes you into a dream world. Hopefully the new rides live up to these amazing attractions.
