Attraction Overview
Board a flying Dumbo as he gracefully lifts you up for a magical flight, high into the sky! Dumbo The Flying Elephant attraction at Disneyland is based off the 1941 Animated Film. It is the only attraction located in all six Disney castle parks throughout the world. Dumbo the Flying Elephant was supposed to be an opening day attraction, but instead opened a month later in August of 1955. Timothy Q. Mouse sits atop the fountain and a hot air balloon, with a whip in hand as he directs you while you are in the sky. Feel the wind on your face as well as the sights of Fantasyland as Dumbo glides through the air. Each Dumbo has a different color scheme along with a number. A Cast Member will assign you a number to a specific Dumbo. Use the joystick to go higher and lower. The Dumbo spins counter clockwise around the fountain as a circus melody plays. As you exit the attraction, there is a replica Dumbo where you can stop and snap a picture.
