Best Places For Walking In The Disney Parks

Magic Kingdom

The Disney Parks are great for getting your steps in. Magic Kingdom park spans across 107 acres, and this is the smallest park at Disney World! If you are vacationing to Disney World you will definitely get your exercise, and it’ll definitely be the most enjoyable cardio workout you’ll ever participate in! Some areas of the Disney parks are especially great for recreational walking. You never know what you might find when you take a Disney walk! Here are some of the best places just for walking in the Disney parks!

EPCOT’s World Showcase

One of the greatest walking paths in all of Disney World is the 1.2 mile loop of 11 country pavilions that is EPCOT’s World Showcase. The best part of this walking path is that it is lined with food and beverage opportunities throughout. Where else can you walk over a mile while sipping on authentic margaritas and eating poutine? World Showcase is a great walk that will educate you on other countries and world culture. There are also several shopping opportunities in each pavilion, and popular attractions as well like Frozen Ever After and Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure.

The Castle Loop at Magic Kingdom

When you first enter the Magic Kingdom, you also begin my own personal favorite walking path at Disney World. I’ve nicknamed this “The Castle Loop”. This walking path begins when you enter the park, and continues on down Main Street U.S.A. When you reach the statue of Walt and Mickey, veer left and head toward Adventureland. However, before you enter Adventureland take a right and go across a bridge, continue on this path and you’ll end up walking around the side of Cinderella Castle. There are great photo opportunities along with less-walked pathway, and if you keep walking the path you’ll end up back where you started!

Discovery Island Trails at Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Disney’s Animal Kingdom is also home to some unique walking paths! Discovery Island Trails are a series of nature paths that take guests throughout the Tree of Life area, guiding them through different animal habitats and exhibits. On Discovery Island Trails you’ll see several animals like the red kangaroo, Galapagos tortoise, the Asian Small-clawed Otter, and many more! There is informational signage posted throughout the trails, and guests can participate in the Wilderness Explorers challenges on this trail as well.

Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Disney’s Hollywood Studios doesn’t have many areas for walking that are “off the beaten path” so to speak, however Galaxy’s Edge is one of the most fun places to walk and explore at this park because it is full of quiet corners and things to discover. Galaxy’s Edge is designed to look like a market on a distant planet and is full of busy areas but also small and quiet moments. During your walk through Galaxy’s Edge you can shop for Star Wars merchandise that you can’t find anywhere else, grab some Blue Milk, or catch a ride on Smuggler’s Run!
