Best Drinks To Enjoy on Disney’s Monorail Bar Crawl

The Magic Kingdom hotels that sit on Seven Seas Lagoon are gorgeous, incredibly themed resorts. They are a lovely place to stay when visiting Walt Disney World, each offering a completely different experience from the other. They all have something in common however, it is the most magical place to do a bar crawl via the resort Monorail! Everybody has different preferences with their drinks of choice, but I’m going to highlight some can’t miss drinks!

Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort

The Polynesian is my favorite resort on property. The music that softly plays in the background, the beautiful attention to detail, and of course – the strongest pouring bar on Disney property (according to the people making my drink of course). Tambu Lounge, located to the right of Ohana on the second floor in the main lobby, has some “silly” drinks to say the least. My go to is the “Backscratcher” ($15.00) … why is it called the backscracther you ask? This drink, containing “Bacardi Superior Rum, Plantation Original Dark Rum, and Guava-Passion Fruit Juice topped with Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey”, COMES WITH a Bamboo Backscratcher! Saying this beverage is strong is an understatement, but it is delicious! And you can’t say no to a free backscratcher!

I want to move on to the crown jewel of the Polynesian, but I can’t leave out the Lapu Lapu ($19.50) . If you’ve ever dreamed of sitting on the beach, drink in your hand, but the drink is inside a pineapple, your dreams are about to come true. “Plantation Original Dark Rum and Tropical Fruit Juices served in a fresh Pineapple topped with Gosling’s 151 Rum”, This drink screams vacation, perfect for sipping on the bench swings on the Polynesian beach, while watching the sunset

You can’t have a bar crawl without a stop at Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto. This indoor (and outdoor if the inside is full or posting a long wait) tiki bar has a wide assortment of specialty beverages sevred in unique ways. If dining inside, certain drinks will set off lighting and sound effects sure to make for an immersive experience. If you love the vibes of Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room, youre going to love it in here. While your choices on drinks might depend on which specialty container you want it served in, I reccomend the Krakatoa Punch ($18.00) which consists of “Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum, Pyrat XO Reserve Rum, Orgeat (Almond), Sam’s Gorilla Grog, and Hibiscus Grenadine.”

Disney’s Contemporary Resort

Steakhouse 71 is quite possibly my favorite restuarant on the Magic Kingdom resort loop. Located in the back of the Contemporary lobby,  you enter you’ll be greeted with photos of Walt Disney World in it’s development stages.  Usually this hankfully they also have a lounge to enjoy some of  it’s specialty beverages, incase the restuarant is experiencing high wait times, or if your party is on a time crunch. My go to beverage at Steakhouse 71 is the 1971 Sunset (28.00) which is made with “Herradura Reposado Tequila, POG Juice, Rosemary Simple Syrup, House-made Grenadine”. While on the pricier side, this concoction is the best choice to unwind with in this lounge.

Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa

Beauty and the Beast is holds a very special place in my heart, so this final stop on the bar crawl is extra special to me. The tale as old as time is the inspiration for this final stop on our bar crawl. Enchanted Rose is a bar on the second floor in the main lobby of The Grand Floridian, which specializes in it’s featured cocktails and martinis. The Grand Floridian is quite possibly the most elegant and regal of the Disney World resorts, so it only makes sense to get a drink to match the occasion! You could go the Espresso Martini route ($16.00) with “Stoli Vanil Vodka, Espresso, Crème de Cacao” or if you’re looking for something more on theme the Island Rose ($18.00) which features a mixture of “Ketel One Grapefruit and Rose, Lime, Orgeat (Almond), Pineapple, Bitters, and Rose Water”. Either way, enjoy your drinks in the beautiful ambience of the Enchanted Rose, or step outside of the bar to see if the Grand Floridian piano is being played, which fills the lobby with the perfect atmosphere to end your bar crawl.

Not much has changed! During his free time you can find him either at Hollywood Studios or trying to convince his friends to go on another trip to Disneyland.
