Disney vacations require a good amount of planning in order to perfectly craft the experience you desire. Between advance dining reservations, creating a budget, booking a Disney resort, and making Lightning Lane reservations, there is a lot that goes into making your Disney vacation magical. But what if you want to surprise the people you are traveling with? Taking on the burden of planning your vacation alone so you can surprise others is a daunting task, but it doesn’t need to be! If you are surprising your friends, family, or children with a Disney World vacation this year then continue reading for some tips on how to craft this big surprise!

Start Early

When planning a surprise Disney vacation the earlier you begin the process the better. Starting the planning early allows you to have more time to accommodate for having to do things like request time off work for your spouse if you are surprising them, or talk to your child’s school if you plan on surprising them during the school year. If you are planning this surprise trip completely by yourself then starting early also gives you more time to come up with a budget plan and save money for your vacation. It also gives you more time to play detective on who you are surprising.

Play Detective

Playing detective is the key to planning the perfect surprise vacation. Ask subtle questions to whoever you are planning on surprising about their desires for a Disney vacation. Get to know their favorite characters, what sort of attractions they are interested in, and what food they’d like to enjoy in order to plan the entire vacation catered to their wants and needs.

Decide When To Reveal

When planning a surprise vacation you must first decide how and when to reveal the surprise. Do you wait until you arrive at the airport? If so, you’ll need to accommodate for packing your traveling partner’s bags. Some guests enjoy revealing the vacation the day prior to leaving through some sort of game or scavenger hunt. However you decide to do the big reveal, be sure to plan ahead of time so that your surprise won’t fall flat.

Plan at Least One Major Surprise Within the Vacation

Don’t let the surprises end with the vacation reveal! You can continue planning more surprises throughout the trip by booking Enchanting Extras. If you want to surprise your children then consider booking a package at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, going pony riding at Fort Wilderness, or booking a character meal. If you are surprising another adult then a reservation at a nice restaurant like California Grill or Narcoossee’s is a fantastic surprise. You can also book an in-room gift through In-Room Floral & Gifts and surprise your partner or friend with flowers and other goodies.
