Tips for Traveling to Disney Without Your Children

When you think of a Disney vacation, you might be thinking of a family vacation. While it is true that Disney World is a great travel destination for families and those with children, it is also a fantastically fun place for adults to vacation alone. Disney World has great accommodations for families with children including Rider Swap, Baby Care Centers, and more. Traveling as a family can be fun and rewarding, but vacationing without your children is a great break for parents. Fans of Disney World can and should return to the parks without their children so they can have the chance to enjoy Disney World as adults. If you are planning a vacation to Disney without your children then here are a few tips for you!

Decide Ahead of Time What To Tell Your Children

When planning a Disney vacation without your children, it is important to decide ahead of time how you will approach it with your kids. Some parents with young kids prefer to not mention that they are going to Disney World, but older kids might feel deceived by this. Whatever you decide, it is important to communicate with your kids about your decision to travel without them. Some kids might enjoy sending their parents with a toy or stuffed animal so they can receive photos of their special item throughout Disney World, and with characters as well. This is a great way to include your children in the trip!

Book Signature Dining Experiences

Dining with your children can be a difficult experience, so what better way to commemorate your child-free trip than by enjoying a Disney Signature Dining Experience? Disney Signature Dining Experiences are higher-end dining experiences that can be found throughout the parks and resorts. These restaurants typically have a more refined menu, sophisticated atmosphere, and a dress code in which guests are expected to dress nicely. Some popular Signature Dining Experiences include California Grill at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, Le Cellier Steakhouse in EPCOT, Jiko in Animal Kingdom, and Topolino’s Terrace at Disney’s Riviera Resort.

Drink Around the World

EPCOT is a park that is great for guests of all ages, but there are some experiences that you can’t exactly have when you vacation with your kids. Many guests enjoy drinking around World Showcase. You don’t have to get a drink at every country, but sampling drinks throughout World Showcase is a fun experience for those traveling solo without their kids. Some of our favorite drinks at World Showcase include the Viking Coffee at Kringla Bakeri og Cafe, and Schofferhofer Grapefruit Beer at Bier Refreshment Stand in Germany.

Shop for Souvenirs

Shopping for souvenirs for yourself is definitely a must-do on any Disney vacation, but when you are traveling without your children you can have fun shopping for something to bring back for them! You could also shop for something for whoever is watching your children for you during this trip. Some great souvenir ideas for kids include plush characters, t-shirts, and hats. Souvenir ideas for grown ups include mugs, ornaments, and other housewares.
