Exploring Grand Avenue and Commissary Lane – Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Disney’s Hollywood Studios has seen big changes in recent years with the addition of Galaxy’s Edge and Toy Story Land, however there is so much more at this park to do and see. Many areas of Hollywood Studios celebrates a love of film, art, and Hollywood. The theme of “The Hollywood that never was and always will be” can be seen throughout the park. There are several areas that make up Hollywood Studios, including Grand Avenue and Commissary Lane. These areas are adjacent to one another and feature many great attractions and dining opportunities. Attractions

Muppet Vision 3D– This 3D show starring everyone’s favorite Muppets is a must-do. Utilizing 4D effects like lighting, water spraying, and other in-house effects, this is so much more than a typical 3D show. Muppet audio-animatronics are utilized throughout the theater, as well as a walkaround Sweetums. This show begins by taking you on a tour of the Muppet Vision labs and hilarious hi-jinks ensue. All of the classic Muppets are present for this amazing show, and it was one of the last projects that Jim Henson himself worked on before his passing.

Dining

Mama Melrose Ristorante Italiano– This casual sit-down restaurant takes Italian-American cuisine and presents it in a quaint and charming way. Mama Melrose Ristorante Italiano appears as a hole-in-the-wall restaurant with its cozy dining room and twinkling overhead lights. This restaurant is great for families, or for couples looking for a charming and quiet meal. Classic entrees like fettucine alfredo are available alongside more unique offerings such as the mushroom and goat cheese pizza. This charming restaurant is definitely worthy of your time!

PizzeRizzo-In need of a quick-service restaurant? PizzeRizzo is located near Muppet Vision 3D and is proudly owned and operated by the Muppet Rizzo himself. This quick-service restaurant is great for families because of its delicious personal-sized pizza, and its “dancing room” dining area located on the second floor.

ABC Commissary– Another quick-service restaurant in this area is ABC Commissary. This restaurant features a diverse menu with entrees like shrimp tacos, buffalo chicken grilled cheese, and so much more.

Sci-Fi Dine-In-If you are looking for a unique sit-down dining experience then look no further than Sci-Fi Dine-In. This restaurant is designed to feel like a drive-in restaurant. Guests eat in old-fashioned cars and watch clips from 1950s Sci-fi films. Sci-Fi Dine-In serves delicious burgers and milkshakes.

Baseline Tap House– California beers and wine are available at Baseline Tap House, alongside charcuterie boards in a chic and upscale setting.

Ice Cold Hydraulics- This snack stand serves ice-cold beverages as well as cinnamon rolls, churros, popcorn, and cotton candy.

Characters and Entertainment

Goofy and Max- This iconic father and son duo meet and greet in this area, just past Muppet Vision 3D and right before you enter Galaxy’s Edge.
