Disney’s Fab 50 statues have arrived! The World’s Most Magical Celebration, Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary celebration, is less than 2 weeks away. Leading up to Magic Kingdom’s birthday, the resort has been adorning the parks with special decorations. Throughout Walt Disney World’s parks guests can now find gold statues of some of their favorite characters. These statues feature a “50” medallion, and pedestal with the celebration’s theme “Earidescent” colors. Characters have been split into collections and placed into the 4 parks based on their relevance to the theming.
Magic Kingdom
In the hub area in front of Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom, guests can spot statues of Mickey and his closest friends: Minnie, Donald, Goofy, Daisy, Pluto, and Chip & Dale. There is a plaque near the statues of Mickey and Minnie to honor Walt Disney World Cast members.
“Walt Disney World Cast Members have always been the heart of our magic. These statues of Mickey Mouse And Minnie Mouse are dedicated to celebrate Cast Members past, present, and future. Thank you for making Walt Disney’s dream a reality. Dedicated on this 15th Day of September, 2021,” the plaque reads.
A statue of Lady and the Tramp is in the town square area at the front of the park. Dumbo, Mad Hatter, Cheshire Cat, Pinocchio, and Cogsworth are located in or near Fantasyland. Near Crystal Palace, Winnie the Pooh and Piglet can be seen sharing a statue. Tinkerbell is portrayed in gold near the entrance of Liberty Square. Abu and Orange Bird can be found in Adventureland while Stitch is crawling down the purple wall near Tomorrowland.
Epcot
At Epcot, Figment stands near the walkway towards the Odyessy building in Future World East. Statues of Miguel and Dante from Coco can be found in the Mexico pavilion of the World Showcase.
Rocket and Groot, from Guardians of the Galaxy, share a statue that sits at the World Showcase entrance. Olaf and Bruni, from Frozen 2, sit opposite of Groot and Rocket. Pua and Hei Hei, from Moana, are in this same area.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Disney’s Hollywood Studios features statues of some Pixar and Star Wars favorites. There are two droid dedicated statues: BB-8 and R2D2. Representing Pixar are the statues of Woody and Bo Peep, Frozone, Edna Mode, and Joe Gardner from the franchise’s 2020 film Soul. The final statue of Disney’s Hollywood Studios is a shared one featuring Flounder and Sebastian, paying tribute to 1989’s The Little Mermaid. All of this park’s statues appear to be located in area at the end of Hollywood Boulevard.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom
A statue of Simba along with one of Timon and Pumbaa together at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Two other character pairs located at Walt Disney World’s youngest park: Nemo with Dory and Bambi and Thumper.
The Upcoming Celebration
While Walt Disney World has been prepping for its birthday celebration for months, these statues have been making their way to the parks over the past few weeks. The World’s Most Magical Celebration will begin on October 1st, 2021 and its offerings will available for 18 months after. New offerings coming to the parks on October 1st include: Disney Enchantment (a new fireworks show at Magic Kingdom) and Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure at Epcot.
