5 Things To Do At Magic Kingdom At Night

Magic Kingdom at night is just as magical as it is during the day. Nighttime is a great time to continue exploring Magic Kingdom because the hot sun is gone and the crowds are beginning to thin. If you have an upcoming visit to Disney World then check out these 5 things to do at Magic Kingdom at night!

1. Climb the Swiss Family Treehouse

One of Magic Kingdom’s hidden gem attractions is the Swiss Family Treehouse, and this attraction becomes even more magical at night. The Swiss Family Treehouse is a replica of the twisting treehouse as seen in the classic Disney film: Swiss Family Robinson. This attraction is a walkthrough attraction in which guests climb the treehouse and explore various scenes of the dwelling, while getting some great aerial views of the Magic Kingdom. This attraction is fantastic at night because the dark setting makes the climb feel much more adventurous, the heat of the sun is no longer an issue, there is typically little to no wait, and the top of the attraction boasts a great view of Magic Kingdom all lit up!

2. Explore Tomorrowland

All of Magic Kingdom is beautiful at night, but Tomorrowland is something special. One of my favorite things to do after dark in Magic Kingdom is walk around Tomorrowland. The lights in Tomorrowland are especially beautiful as if this area of the park was made to be viewed at night. Riding the People Mover is a great way to see all of Tomorrowland after nightfall.

3. Take Photopass Photos

Being at Magic Kingdom at night is a great opportunity for taking photos. Many Photopass photographers are still out and about snapping photos in unique areas at night. Nighttime photos are great because there tend to be less people in the background, and less lines for Photopass. Some of my favorite Disney photos I have of my family were taken at night!

4. Last Minute Shopping

After dark is a great time to get any shopping done that you weren’t able to do during the day! Shopping at night is great because the crowd is beginning to line up near the castle for the fireworks so the stores are usually quite empty. You also don’t have to carry your purchases around with you for very long if you shop during the evening. If you still wish to view the fireworks show, don’t worry! Main Street’s Emporium store is open for another hour after the park closes so you can enjoy nighttime entertainment and still get your shopping time!

5. Watch Happily Ever After

Of course the most exciting thing to do at Magic Kingdom at night is watching Happily Ever After, Magic Kingdom’s nightly fireworks spectacular. This fireworks show is best viewed on Main Street or anywhere near Cinderella Castle. Beginning at 9:20pm and lasting approximately 18 minutes, Happily Ever After features fireworks, castle projections, music, and other lighting and visual effects. Watching the nightly fireworks spectacular is a great way to end your day at Magic Kingdom.
