5 Must-Try Desserts At Disney World

Disney's BoardWalk

Chocolate, candy, cake, caramel corn, cotton candy… Does your mouth water as you read these words? Mine definitely does! Honestly, though, the mention of any sweet treat makes my mouth water. While it is a delight to eat sweet treats anywhere, there is something special about indulging in a delicious dessert at Walt Disney World. Every eatery in Disney World has excellent selections that keep guests returning often, but some dishes are legendary. The dishes below are our favorites and ones that we hope you can enjoy on your next Disney vacation!

1. Grapefruit Cake – Hollywood Brown Derby.

It’s stunning, light, and sweet, with just a tinge of grapefruit in the cake. The frosting is a relatively delicate layer of zesty cream cheese with grapefruit juice and spice. The cream cheese frosting is delightful, and paired with the fluffy cake and some juicy pink grapefruit pieces, it’s a perfect balance. The price of this delicious dessert at the Hollywood Brown Derby is $13.00.

2. School Bread – EPCOT’s Norway Pavilion

It is located in EPCOT’s Norway pavilion at Kringla Bakeri og Cafe. A sweet bread roll filled with vanilla custard, then coated with lovely icing and toasted coconut. The School Bread recipe comes from a traditional Norwegian snack (adequately titled “Skolebrød”). The total cost of this dessert is $4.79.

3. Lefu’s Brew – Gaston’s Tavern

Lefu’s Brew is located at Disney’s Magic Kingdom in Gaston’s Tavern. It is a frozen apple juice spiced with marshmallow, topped by a creamy, passion-fruit froth. It is a delightful drink you and your family will surely enjoy. I promise that once you try it, it will be something you order during all your visits to the Magic Kingdom.  The price of this dessert is $6.79, and it will be enough for you to share with another person if desired.

4. Pineapple Lumpia – Pongu Pongu

The Pineapple Lumpia is located at Pongu Pongu inside Pandora. It is filled with creme cheese and pineapple. The filling is still cold, while the outside is crunchy and warm! Priced at $3.79, this dessert is an excellent value.

5. Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake at Disney’s Liberty Tree Tavern

It is the most expensive dessert on this list because of the set menu pricing at Liberty Tree Tavern. However, it is my most favorite of all. It is a vanilla toffee cake that is covered in chocolate sauce and vanilla ice cream. Who can go wrong with a dessert like that? Since this dessert is part of the fixed menu, the total cost is $42.00 per adult and $23.00 per child. Enjoy!

I hope you enjoy these delicious desserts during your next Disney vacation. Be warned, though, once you have had them once, you are sure to order them again and again.
