Why You Should Spend More Than One Day At Disneyland

Mickey Mouse

One question on everyone’s mind while they are planning a trip to Disneyland is this: How many days are needed to fully enjoy Disneyland? You might have heard in the past that Disneyland can be easily completed in just one day. This is not always the case. There are many variables that can make Disneyland a multi-day park, and the best way to ensure you get adequate time at Disneyland is is to spend more than one day there. Need more convincing? Continue reading to see why we think you should spend more than one day at Disneyland!

Your First Visit

Will your upcoming visit to Disneyland be your first visit? If you are a newbie visiting Disneyland then you’ll definitely want to add more than one day to your itinerary! Disneyland is a park that is full of attractions, shows, and attention to detail around every corner. While it is smaller than Disney World’s Magic Kingdom in size, it actually contains more attractions than Magic Kingdom overall. Guests who are visiting for the first time will want to give themselves plenty of time to squeeze in every attraction on their must-do list, and guests who have only visited Disney World will want to experience Disneyland’s version of attractions that are present in both parks. Attractions like Space Mountain, The Haunted Mansion, and Pirates of the Caribbean exist in both parks, but Disneyland’s version will be slightly different! Guests will also want to allow themselves plenty of time to experience some of Disneyland’s original attractions like Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride, Casey Jr. Circus Train, and Snow White’s Enchanted Wish.

Guests will also want to ensure that they catch a viewing of Disneyland’s Magic Happens parade, which celebrates moments from beloved Disney films!

Unpredictable Crowds

As with any Disney park, the crowds at Disneyland can be quite unpredictable. Even if you plan on visiting during a historically “slower” season like February or September, you just never really know how busy the park will be until you arrive. Because of this, it is a good idea to allow yourself more than one day at the park in order to experience it fully. This is especially true for those who have no choice but to visit during busy times like spring break, summer break, and winter break. If you’re worried about crowds then consider purchasing Genie + for you and your family during your visit. This will allow you to make Lightning Lane reservations for popular attractions rather than wait in a traditional standby queue. Guests can purchase individual Lightning Lane passes for certain attractions as well, such as Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. Between Genie + and having more than one day at Disneyland you and your family will be able to fill your time generously!
