Guests who are visiting Disney’s Animal Kingdom can expect a day full of magical interactions, attractions, and entertainment. With so many attractions at Animal Kingdom, guests will not find themselves without anything to do. Typically, there are some attractions with a longer wait time than others. These attractions are popular, but they are popular for a reason! Whether you are visiting with Lightning Lane Multi-Pass or are choosing to wait in the standby queue, you will find attractions with varying wait times throughout the day. It’s always nice to have the option of hitting up a less busy attraction during the day, but there are some popular attractions at Disney’s Animal Kingdom that are worth waiting for.
Kilimanjaro Safaris
This popular attraction could be called the heart of Animal Kingdom. Kilimanjaro Safaris is a unique attraction and one the largest in all of Disney World. This attraction gives guests a safari experience that is almost as authentic as the real deal in Africa. Animals like elephants, giraffes, lions, antelope, ostriches, zebras, and so many more can be found roaming throughout the grounds of this attraction. Kilimanjaro Safaris uses natural barriers to contain their animals so certain animals can get extremely close to the ride vehicle. You never quite know what experience you’ll get when riding this attraction. Some guests get extremely lucky and catch roaring lions or up-close zebras. Ride first thing in the morning or at dusk to see the animals at their most active.
Expedition Everest
One of Animal Kingdom’s most exciting thrill rides is Expedition Everest. This roller coaster features intricate theming that transports guests to Mt. Everest as they set off on an expedition to see the mysterious yeti. You never know what perils you might encounter along the way. This attraction is for guests 44 inches or taller, and features steep drops and tight turns.
Avatar Flight of Passage
Located in Pandora-The World of Avatar, Flight of Passage is a thrill ride that allows guests to take flight on a banshee. This unique attraction uses special effects to make your ride vehicle come alive. Take flight with motion simulation and stunning 3D effects. This attraction is for guests 44 inches or taller.
DINOSAUR (Closing Soon)
Ride this popular attraction while you still can! DINOSAUR is an exciting thrill ride through time where guests travel back to the time of dinosaurs. Go through tight turns, bumpy terrain, and dodge terrifying dinosaurs while you avoid the disastrous meteor about to strike. This attraction is scheduled to close when Animal Kingdom is transformed to include Tropical Americas. An exact closing date has yet to be announced but this attraction will be closing at some point during 2026. DINOSAUR is well worth the wait while you still can experience it.
