Must-See Holiday Window Displays

There is something special about spending the holiday season at the Walt Disney World Resort. From Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party to snow on Main Street, U.S.A., the season is truly magical. One of the reasons I love Disney so much is because of its culture of excellence. Every decoration and detail is so intricate and beautiful. It is difficult not to get lost in the magic and wonder found at the Disney Parks. While all of the holiday decorations are incredible, my favorites are the window displays. Read on to discover where you can find some of my very favorite window displays at the Walt Disney World Resort.

Location One: Disney’s Magic Kingdom Park

If you look in the windows along Main Street, U.S.A., you will find six intricate dioramas that symbolize the story of the 1983 “Mickey’s Christmas Carol” short, an adaptation of the best-seller by Charles Dickens featuring traditional Disney characters. (The characters are Mickey and his pals). Outside of each window, there is a book telling what is happening in each scene. As a bonus, some of the displays have moving parts. Cool, right?

For the wonderful merchandise presentation team, gearing up for the holiday season takes almost a year of hard work – they begin preparing for the holidays in January! They begin with the idea stage, speaking with the product and merchandise development team, which gives them a peek at what the following season will bring. Then, in the summertime, they begin working on the elements of the design, from ornaments, ribbons, and everything that will be utilized to make their magic. If that is not a real-life Christmas in July, I don’t know what is, but hey, it’s never too early to start planning for Christmas. Approximately thirty windows can be found along Main Street, U.S.A. Each one is home to unique holiday décor and theming.

Location Two: Disney’s Contemporary Resort Hotel

Disney’s Contemporary Resort Hotel is a classic, mid-century modern hotel. It holds a special place in my heart because it is one of the original Disney hotels. In my opinion, this hotel is one of the best places to shop in all of Walt Disney World. The Fantasia Store has a beautiful new window display with Mickey and Minnie Mouse dressed as Santa and Mrs. Claus. The adorable display fills me with the holiday spirit every time I see it. I love the store because the pins available at the Fantasia shop are comprehensive. I try to get a new pin from Fantasia every time I visit the Walt Disney World Resort. During the holiday season, there are holiday ears, holiday spirit jerseys, holiday pins, and holiday hats. The holiday window display at the front of the store is the icing on the cake.

We hope this article makes you eager for the upcoming Christmas season at the Walt Disney World Resort. While you are on vacation, remember to relax and take in the blissful holiday details. After all, when you are vacationing at a place where dreams come true, even the window displays are magical.
