Determining a budget for you Disney vacation is an important aspect of vacation planning. After you have booked your vacation package you should focus on budgeting for other things during your trip, and plan ahead so you don’t run into any unexpected expenses. Things like food, shopping, entertainment, and any other extras will bring additional expenses to the trip. But how much spending money do you need to bring for your Disney vacation? Let’s break it down.
Food and Dining
When determining how much spending money to take with you to Disney you must first determine your plans for dining. If guests choose to not utilize the Disney Dining Plan, then they should determine a food budget for their trip. Typically, meals at Disney quick-service restaurants vary from 11-14 dollars per adult and 6-9 dollars per child. For adults, this is not including a beverage or dessert. Sit-down restaurants have a wide variety in their pricing, with the average family of 4 spending anywhere from 75-200 dollars per meal. In order to get an idea of how much money to budget for food guests should first determine how many meals they plan to eat per day and how many sit-down dining experiences they wish to book. Guests should check Disney’s website for updated pricing for the restaurants of their choosing. Don’t forget to budget for snacks as well, with the average snack costing anywhere from 5-10 dollars.
Enchanting Extras
If you plan on booking any Enchanting Extras during your vacation then be sure to add those into your budget as well. Guests who wish to indulge in these extras should book their reservations in advance and plan ahead for the additional cost that they bring. Popular Enchanting Extras include the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique with packages available from 99.95-450.00 dollars per child, the Behind the Seeds Tour of Living With the Land ranging in price from 39-45 dollars per guest, Capture Your Moment Photo Sessions starting at 99 dollars per 20-minute session, and Caring for Giants elephant tour starting at 39 dollars per guest.
Stroller Rental
If you have little ones, you will want to budget for stroller rental if you are unable to bring your own. Disney rents strollers starting at $13 dollars per day for multi-day rental for a single stroller and $27 dollars per day for a multi-day rental for a double stroller. There are several third-party stroller rental companies in the Orlando area as well.
Tipping
Don’t forget to bring some extra cash to tip your servers at Disney restaurants and housekeepers at Disney resorts. While it isn’t required to tip your “mousekeepers” it is a great way to show appreciation for their hard work.
Shopping and Souvenirs
While at Disney World, you and your family are going to want to shop. There are so many amazing shops and stores selling merchandise you can’t find anywhere else, and so many opportunities for special souvenirs to commemorate your trip. You will definitely want to budget to have some “play money” available!
Transportation
If you are flying into the Orlando International Airport you will want to remember to budget for transportation to the Disney parks from the airport. There are several options available to get from the airport to the parks. You can ride the Mears Connect bus which is currently priced at 13 dollars per child and 16 dollars per adult, you can utilize a rideshare service like Uber or Lyft, you can rent a private car or limousine, or you can rent a car. Whichever option you choose, don’t forget to add it into your budget.
Overall, the amount of money you need to bring with you for your Disney vacation will depend on your family and what you plan to do during your vacation. How much spending money do you bring with you on your Disney vacation? Let us know in the comments below.
