Guests traveling to Disneyland will find themselves charmed by Walt Disney’s original park and vision. Disneyland is a place where magic happens and lifelong memories are made. Disneyland is home to 9 lands, each with their own distinct and intricate theming: Adventureland, Frontierland, Fantasyland, Tomorrowland, New Orleans Square, Critter Country, Mickey’s Toontown and Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Guests traveling to Disneyland should familiarize themselves with what each land has to offer so they don’t miss anything on their must-do list. Join us as we explore New Orleans Square together!
Attractions
Haunted Mansion- This classic Disney attraction has been giving guests a fright for several decades. Haunted Mansion is located in New Orleans Square. This attraction might appear to be a typical New Orleans manor on the outside, but on the inside is where 999 “happy haunts” reside. This slow-moving ride is spooky, but not gory or overly frightening. However, some small children might still become frightened by this attraction. Beware of hitchhiking ghosts!
Pirates of the Caribbean– Another classic Disney attraction within New Orleans Square, Pirates of the Caribbean takes guests through a pirate’s life. This slow-moving boat ride features a small drop, and many audio-animatronic pirates. Guests will float through several pirate scenes as the iconic song “Yo Ho ( A Pirate’s Life for Me)” is played throughout. While this attraction has been replicated in many parks including Walt Disney World, Disneyland’s version of this attraction is quite different from the rest. Take a look for yourself!
Food and Drink
Tiana’s Palace– Tiana’s very own restaurant has a home within Disneyland. Enjoy some of Tiana’s homecooked favorites like gumbo, Beef Po’boy Sandwich, Muffuletta Sandwich, Buttermilk Cornbread, and Lavender Lemonade. Come on by to see why so many love Tiana’s food. Don’t forget to try her famous beignets!
Blue Bayou Restaurant- This unique sit-down restaurant is located indoors in perpetual twilight, as the boats from Pirates of the Caribbean float by. Blue Bayou Restaurant serves Cajun and Creole-inspired food in a charming setting. Advance reservations are highly recommended for this experience.
Cafe Orleans- Also located at New Orleans Square, Cafe Orleans first opened in 1966 and has been entertaining guests ever since. Cafe Orleans is a quaint restaurant that takes you back in time and serves Louisiana favorites. Princess and the Frog displays are prominent throughout in this tribute to Tiana. Cafe Orleans is open for both lunch and dinner, and serves guest-favorites like the Gumbo, Cajun Butter Roasted Chicken, Battered & Fried Triple Cheese Monte Cristo Sandwich, and Blackened Shrimp Alfredo.
