Exploring DVC’s Animal Kingdom Lodge Resort

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge is a deluxe resort with DVC accommodations. Animal Kingdom Lodge is split between two sections: Kidani Village and Jambo House. Both of these areas have DVC accommodations, however Kidani Village is exclusively DVC.  This resort is best known for its incredible African savannas featuring giraffes, antelopes, ostriches, gazelles, and other wildlife. Guests can book savanna views for their villa where they have balconies overlooking the animals, or standard views. Even if guests don’t have a savanna view for their room, they can still see plenty of wildlife from one of the many observation decks located throughout the resort. Villas

Kidani Village and Jambo House both contain several options for DVC villas. Jambo House offers a value studio with parking lot or landscape views, a deluxe studio with savanna or standard views, a 1-bedroom villa with standard or savanna views, a 2-bedroom villa with standard or savanna views, and a 3-bedroom grand villa with savanna views. Kidani Village offers a deluxe studio with standard or savanna views, a 1-bedroom villa with standard or savanna views, a 2-bedroom villa with standard or savanna views, and a 3-bedroom grand villa with standard or savanna views.

Dining

Jiko- The Cooking Place– This Signature Dining Experience is located in Jambo House and serves African, Mediterranean, and Indian cuisine. Unique entrees like Botswanan Seswaa Short Rib and Cocoa-crusted Venison Loin are offered.

Boma-Flavors of Africa- This all-you-care-to-enjoy buffet serves African dishes from over 50 countries, alongside classic American-style food for the picky eater in your family.

Sanaa– Located in Kidani Village, Sanaa is a sit-down restaurant by night and a quick-service restaurant by day. Serving a grab and go breakfast and lunch, Sanaa is great for a quick bite. During dinner, guests can enjoy the tastes of Indian and African cuisine as they indulge in favorites like the “Bread Service”, all with a savanna view.

The Mara- This quick-service restaurant located at Jambo House is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and serves African-inspired cuisine as well as American-style food.

Cape Town Lounge and Wine Bar- Located near Jiko, guests can enjoy a cocktail and a small bite from Cape Town Lounge and Wine Bar.

Victoria Falls Lounge– This bar overlooks Boma, and serves specialty cocktails and other alcoholic beverages in an intimate setting.

Uzima Springs Pool Bar- This pool bar is near Uzima pool and serves cocktails and alcoholic beverages.

Maji Pool Bar- Located in Kidani Village, this pool bar serves alcoholic beverages alongside sandwiches and small plates.

Pools

Uzima Springs Pool- Located in Jambo House, this pool features a 67 foot-long waterslide and nearby savanna views. This pool also features a wading pool for little kids and a whirlpool spa hot tub for adults.

Samawati Springs Pool- Kidani Village houses Samawati Springs Pool, featuring a 128 foot-long waterslide. Nearby, a splash playground for kids called Uwanja Camp has climbing structures and water squirters.

Entertainment

Animal Kingdom Lodge is also home to other entertainment like a playground near Uzima Springs Pool, Jambo House campfire activities, movies under the stars, Pumba’s Fun and Games Arcade, and a Community Hall.

Amenities

A shuttle bus exists to take guests between Kidani Village and Jambo House. Guests are able to use Disney busses, and other amenities like housekeeping and laundry services are also available.
