DVC Resorts With The Best Walking Paths

DVC resorts are known for many things: spacious villas, fantastic amenities, fun recreational activities, and beautiful grounds for recreational walking. DVC resorts are expertly themed, and guests love strolling through the resort’s walking paths and soaking in the ambiance. My favorite activity during my vacations at DVC resorts is taking morning walks prior to visiting the parks to grab coffee and breakfast, and just take the time to really appreciate where I am. I’ve done a lot of walking throughout Disney property so I’ve become quite familiar with the walking paths at various resorts. When it comes to DVC and walking paths, they have the best of the best. Continue reading to learn which DVC resorts have the best walking paths.

DVC’s Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort

The best walking path is one that leads to a fun destination and the walking path that begins at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, home to DVC’s Bay Lake Tower, definitely tops my list. Disney’s Contemporary Resort has a walking path that leads directly to the front gates of Magic Kingdom. The walking path to Magic Kingdom is about a half-mile long and takes roughly 15 or so minutes to complete. This path is great for those staying at the Contemporary who wish to forgo the monorail ride to the park in the morning. The path itself is quite simple but you will get some great up-close views of the monorail during your walk!

Boulder Ridge Villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge

If you are looking for more nature during your Disney vacation then you’ll love walking throughout Boulder Ridge Villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. Disney’s Wilderness Lodge has several running/walking trails that take guests through beautiful wooded areas and even through Triple-Circle Ranch, Disney’s horse barn. The total distance that this trail covers is 2.5 miles, but guests can take different paths throughout the trail to customize their walk. Maps are available at the front desk, but there are many signs posted throughout the resort as well.

Disney’s Boardwalk Villas

Not a huge fan of nature? You might enjoy the walking that Disney’s Boardwalk Resort has to offer. Disney’s Boardwalk Resort’s standout feature is, you guessed it, a boardwalk! A quarter-mile long boardwalk that is full of shops, restaurants, arcades, bars, and lots of fun things to see and do. When you tire of walking the boardwalk you can take a 10 minute walk to EPCOT, or a slightly longer walk to Hollywood Studios! These walking paths are great for guests who don’t wish to wait in line for a bus or boat!

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas- Jambo House

Another DVC resort with great walking opportunities is Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge- Jambo House. This resort’s walking paths are unique because they take you throughout different animal exhibits complete with informational signage. Guests can stroll about the resort and find animals like flamingos, wildebeest, zebras and more. Over 30 species of animals call Animal Kingdom Lodge home.

Disney’s Vero Beach Resort

Disney’s Vero Beach Resort is a DVC beachfront resort that is located on the east coast of Florida, roughly 2 hours away from Disney World. If you are staying at this resort you can definitely walk the miles-long pristine beach, but if you need a bit more variety for your steps then cross under the Peter Pan tunnel and head over to the Jungle Trail. The Jungle Trail is actually a historic state trail that extends for 8 miles. Guests who are experienced recreational walkers will love this trail and all of the nature that resides within it. It is connected to Disney’s Vero Beach Resort via tunnel that takes guests under the roadway and up and out onto the trail. The Jungle Trail dates back to 1920 when it was originally a road. Informational signage is posted throughout the trail which discusses the nature you encounter as well as the history of the trail.
