One of the best things about visiting a Disney Vacation Club resort is the incredible attention to detail given to the pools at each of the resorts. With some impressive displays of engineering, there are many debates as to which DVC resort has the best pool, but that debate will have to be sidelined while we relay some news regarding pool closures at multiple DVC resorts in the month of January.

Disney’s Polynesian Resort
The Lava Pool’s slide at Disney’s Polynesian will be closed on January 3, 2023, with refurbishments projected to take as long as 5 weeks. This would put the slide’s return at sometime in early February. The Lava Pool itself will continue to remain open, but the slide will be out of commission for most of the month of January.

Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa
The High Rock Spring pool at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa will also be close for refurbishment at some undetermined date in the month of January. Refurbishments for this pool are projected to last as long as 3 months, which could mean a reopening date late in the month of March. For this closure, the entire pool, as well as the On the Rocks Pool Bar will be unavailable to guests of the resort.

Disney’s Contemporary Resort
The main pool at Disney’s Contemporary Resort is set to close down starting January 9, 2023 and will be closed for approximately 4 months until it reopens sometime in early April of 2023. This closure will not affect owners and renters at Bay Lake Tower’s ability to access Bay Cove pool, as that pool is specifically reserved for guests staying in the Disney Vacation Club villas.
