Disneyland Resort Clarifies Their Reopening Restrictions

Disneyland Resort And California Adventure In Anaheim

Disney has announced that they will be reopening Disneyland and California Adventure at the end of April, and now Disneyland Resort has clarified their reopening restrictions. Similarly to Walt Disney World, there will be a few changes inside of the California theme parks in order to ensure everyone’s health and safety.

COVID Safety Measures

Disney makes every attempt to ensure the safety of their guests and Cast Members. They have already had time to perfect their safety measures with the phased reopening of the Walt Disney World theme parks in Florida, and it appears that these health and safety measures will be utilized in Disneyland as well.

Social Distancing Practices

Disneyland will be reopening with reduced capacity to ensure that social distancing can be maintained. Signage will be placed throughout the parks, as well as barriers where necessary to ensure the recommended amount of distance will be adhered to.

Cleaning and Sanitization

Extra care will be taken to cleaning and sanitizing when Disneyland reopens. Building on their existing standards of cleaning, extra attention will be given to high-traffic areas, including public elevators and escalators, handrails, benches, tables, handles, restrooms and more.

Park reservations will also apply to Annual Passholders as well. Guests who have tickets will need to reserve the park to ensure the numbers never exceed capacity. If the park reservation system for Disneyland is anything like the one for Disney World, guests will want to check the reservation availability calendar before purchasing tickets. Once guests purchase their tickets, guests will be able to go to the availability calendar and confirm their reservations. These reservations will show up in the “My Plans” section of the Disneyland App for guests to check whenever they please.

Those who frequent the Disney parks know that there are a lot of extra perks that guests are able to take advantage of. However, some of these extra amenities will be suspended for the time being. The list of suspended services:

  • Disney MaxPass
  • Magic Morning
  • Extra Magic Hour
  • Parades
  • Fireworks and Nighttime Spectaculars
