Disney’s Animal Kingdom is known for its beautiful animals, conservation efforts, scenic pathways, and shows. But Animal Kingdom is also a fun amusement park with several attractions, including some that are quite thrilling! If you or someone in your family is a thrill seeker then you will love spending the day at Disney’s Animal Kingdom park. Keep reading to learn more about Animal Kingdom’s best thrill rides for the adrenaline lover in your family.
DINOSAUR
One of my personal favorite thrill rides in all of Disney World lives in Animal Kingdom. DINOSAUR is an innovative thrill ride that takes guests back in time to the prehistoric era as they race against time to bring a dinosaur back to the present day. Guests will board a trackless ride vehicle that will simulate the rough terrain as they attempt to outrun the meteor that lead to the dinosaurs’ extinction. This thrill ride features sharp turns, sudden drops, and a very bumpy ride! This attraction has a height requirement of 4o inches or taller, but guests should be aware that the attraction can be quite frightening for young children with its dark environment and loud dinos.
Avatar Flight of Passage
Experience the world of Pandora like never before with one of Animal Kingdom’s finest thrill rides: Avatar Flight of Passage. Guests will climb aboard their very own Banshee and fly throughout Pandora in a thrilling motion-simulator attraction. 3D effects and motion effects are utilized to give guests the ultimate flying experience. You will truly feel as if you are riding a living, breathing creature. Avatar Flight of Passage has a height requirement of 44 inches or taller, and guests should be aware that they will be seated in a prone position during this experience.
Expedition Everest
Expedition Everest is a thrilling roller coaster that contains some of the finest work of Disney’s Imagineers. Guests climb aboard a train that takes them to the top of Mt. Everest. Suddenly the mythical Yeti monster appears and wrecks the track, chaos ensues! This thrilling roller coaster reaches a top speed of 50 miles per hour and takes guests through steep drops, dark tunnels, and twisting track. You might even catch a glimpse of the terrifying Yeti! Expedition Everest has a height requirement of 44 inches or taller.
Kilimanjaro Safaris
While this attraction is not a traditional thrill ride, Kilimanjaro Safaris is still a very thrilling experience that is worthy of being on this list! Kilimanjaro Safaris gives guests the opportunity to see incredible animals on a drive-through safari, as a Cast Member gives thorough information about the animals along the way. This attraction is for guests of all heights and ages, and is an exciting ride as guests get to see animals in a habitat that very closely resembles that of the wild. Guests can spot free-roaming animals like giraffes, zebras, lions, hippos, elephants, and so much more. This is a great opportunity to learn about Animal Kingdom and their conservation efforts as well!
