Best Attractions To Ride While Everyone Else Is Watching Fireworks

Disney World Space Mountain
Fireworks are one of the most popular nighttime experiences at Walt Disney World, but they also create a great opportunity for guests who would rather spend their evenings enjoying attractions. While large crowds gather around Cinderella Castle and World Showcase Lagoon, some ride queues may become noticeably shorter. If you’ve already seen the nighttime spectaculars or simply want to maximize your time in the parks, skipping the fireworks can be a smart strategy. Here are some of the best attractions to prioritize while everyone else is watching the show.

Seven Dwarfs Mine Train – Magic Kingdom

Seven Dwarfs Mine Train is one of Magic Kingdom’s most popular attractions, and its standby wait can remain lengthy throughout the day. However, the nighttime fireworks provide an opportunity to experience this family-friendly coaster with potentially shorter wait times. Another benefit is the possibility of catching glimpses of the fireworks while riding, depending on your timing. Since the attraction is located in Fantasyland, you’ll be away from much of the crowd gathered along Main Street, U.S.A. Keep in mind that the attraction may temporarily close during certain fireworks operations, so check its availability before heading over.

Space Mountain – Magic Kingdom

Space Mountain is another great option for guests who would rather experience attractions than watch Happily Ever After. Located in Tomorrowland, this indoor roller coaster is far enough from the busiest castle viewing areas that you can avoid much of the nighttime congestion. While many guests are watching the fireworks, you may find that the standby line moves more quickly than it did earlier in the evening. Since the entire attraction takes place indoors, you won’t see the fireworks while riding, but you can still enjoy one of Magic Kingdom’s classic thrill rides before the park closes.

Peter Pan’s Flight – Magic Kingdom

Peter Pan’s Flight is known for having surprisingly long wait times despite being a relatively short attraction. Families with young children often prioritize this Fantasyland favorite, making it difficult to find a convenient time to ride without a lengthy wait. During the fireworks, however, some guests may leave Fantasyland to find a viewing location near Cinderella Castle. This can make the nighttime spectacular a good opportunity to check the standby line. If you’ve been putting off Peter Pan’s Flight because of the wait, consider returning during Happily Ever After to see whether the line has shortened.

Frozen Ever After – EPCOT

Frozen Ever After is one of EPCOT’s most popular family attractions, especially for guests traveling with younger children. Located in the Norway Pavilion, this boat ride regularly attracts long lines throughout the day. When crowds begin gathering around World Showcase Lagoon for Luminous The Symphony of Us, you may have an opportunity to experience Frozen Ever After with a shorter wait. Since the attraction is located in World Showcase, it’s also convenient for guests who have been exploring the nearby pavilions. Just remember that EPCOT’s fireworks often begin around park closing, so you’ll want to enter the queue before the attraction stops accepting guests.

Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure – EPCOT

Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure is another attraction worth considering during EPCOT’s nighttime spectacular. Located in the France Pavilion, this family-friendly ride takes guests on an adventure through Gusteau’s restaurant. Because it’s one of the park’s most popular attractions, standby waits can become lengthy during the afternoon and early evening. As guests begin finding their fireworks viewing locations, the line may become more manageable. If you’re staying at a nearby DVC resort like Disney’s Beach Club Villas or BoardWalk Villas, the attraction’s location near the International Gateway is especially convenient when you’re ready to leave the park.
