Disney Attractions That Feature Animatronics



Disney World is famous and popular for many different things. It’s a vacation destination that is well-known for its inclusion of families, its accommodations, and its immersion. When you travel to a Disney park you know that you are going to experience high-quality entertainment, themed attractions like you’ve never seen before, great food, and innovative technologies. Disney World is also well-known for its use of animatronics, or lifelike robots that are used to tell stories and theme attractions. Disney pioneered the technology of animatronics and continue to take it to the next level in their attractions. If you’re interested in seeing the animatronics in action during your next Disney vacation then check out some of these attractions that feature them!

Carousel of Progress

This classic attraction is iconic, and was one of the earliest attractions featuring an animatronic cast. Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress is a show that originally debuted during the 1964 World’s Fair. This show follows an average American family through time as it explains progress and how it improves and changes lives. Featuring audio-animatronics, this show contains a rotating theater that transports guests from scene to scene. If you want to get a close look at the technology of the animatronics then this attraction is perfect for you as the audience doesn’t sit too far away from the stage.

Spaceship Earth

If you want a good look at multiple animatronics then be sure to check out Spaceship Earth at EPCOT. This attraction takes you through time as you view mankind’s history and progress, and there are dozens of animatronics that set the stage. This attraction is so detailed, and each animatronic is unique. You’ll have fun soaking in each one.

Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room

If you want to go back and explore the history of animatronics then be sure to check out Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room. Located in Magic Kingdom’s Adventureland, this attraction was the very first to utilize this technology. Walt Disney created this show with the idea of animatronic birds, and it was brought to life beautifully. You can still see the show as it was originally intended, and you can see how far the technology for animatronics has come.

Rise of the Resistance

One of Disney’s newer attractions is Rise of the Resistance located in Galaxy’s Edge in Hollywood Studios. This attraction features a lifelike animatronic of Kylo Ren that is extremely fluid in its movement. Rise of the Resistance is a bit of a dark ride and thrill ride combination, making it an incredible unique attraction that is immersive and fun.

The American Adventure

Perhaps the attraction featuring the most intricate animatronics, The American Adventure is located in EPCOT at the America pavilion. This stage show feels like a fully-blown production, and its cast consists entirely of audio-animatronics. If it is your first time seeing this show you should prepare to be blown away by the visual effects, stage effects, storytelling, and realism of the animatronics.
