How To Enjoy Disney’s DinoLand USA Before It Closes Forever

Disney’s Animal Kingdom will be receiving a massive change to one of its lands starting on January 13, 2025. DinoLand USA will be leaving the park, making way for Tropical Americas, featuring theming after Encanto and Indiana Jones. The closure will be phased out, but since DinoLand is beloved by many Disney fans, there’s so much to savor up before it’s gone forever!

Let’s Go Catch That Dino

DINOSAUR is one of the most treasured and intense rides at Disney is a must do at DinoLand before it leaves. All the dinosaur animatronics are amazing to see and the thrill of getting back to the future before the meteor hits Earth never gets old. You’ll be able to hear Bill Nye in the queue and travel back in time for a little while longer as there’s no set date for this ride’s closure yet.

Another ride, although less intense, is TriCeratop Spin. It’s a great ride for everyone and similar to Dumbo the Flying Elephant in Magic Kingdom. You have to ride it quickly as it’s part of the first phase of closures.

Savor All the Food

Animal Kingdom is super underrated for its savory and hidden gem snacks. If you’re wanting a classic DinoLand snack, then make sure to stop by Trilo-Bites at the front of the land. Our go-to here is the Buffalo Chicken Chips. It’s the perfect snack for a midday pick me up.

Restaurantosaurus is a typical quick service dining location in Animal Kingdom, but it’s a fan favorite for a lot of people. Everyone needs a burger and chicken tender from Disney while visiting. This quick service is unique because it’s well-themed to DinoLand with dinosaur memorabilia all over the walls.

Explore The Boneyard

A great kid activity will be taken away soon from DinoLand. The Boneyard allows kids 10 and under to uncover fossils in a dig site and go through slides and tunnels in a huge playground area.

This was a perfect place for kids to go off and play while parents cooled off from a long day at Animal Kingdom. It was a great way for kids to pretend to be paleontologists and learn more about dinosaurs.

Win a Prize at Fossil Fun Games

What made up most of DinoLand will go away forever in January. Fossil Fun Games brought carnival games to DinoLand in Animal Kingdom. From whacking dinosaurs to squirting water at a target, there was a game for everyone to enjoy.

This area truly was a staple in DinoLand. Some people may not have even played the games, but there’s still a chance to play for the first time! It’d be a great souvenir to win and remember DinoLand.
