Disney transportation is a great perk to utilize when guests choose to stay on property for their vacation. Disney has a fleet of busses that travel to and from every resort, DVC resorts located on the monorail line, and a DVC resort on the Disney Skyliner route. Whether guests choose to use the busses, monorail, or Skyliner, they can be assured that they will arrive to the Disney parks quickly and efficiently. Many guests are familiar with Disney transportation, but some guests don’t realize there is another option for travel: Disney boats. There are a few DVC resorts that have access to Disney boats or water taxis. These water taxis are available to transport guests to and from a few different Disney destinations. Disney’s Wilderness Lodge
Disney’s Wilderness Lodge is a deluxe resort that is home to several DVC properties. DVC guests can stay at Copper Creek Villas and Cabins or Boulder Ridge Villas, and new DVC cabins are being constructed nearby at Ft. Wilderness as well. No matter where you choose to stay, you will be surrounded by luxurious amenities within the serene setting of nature. Wilderness Lodge is home to two fantastic pools, Story Book Dining at Artist Pointe with Snow White, and various activities like movies under the stars and campfires. Disney’s Wilderness Lodge might seem like it is secluded in nature but it is a simple bus or boat ride away from Magic Kingdom. Guests can board a water taxi and arrive at Magic Kingdom in just a few minutes.
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
Another deluxe Disney resort with a water taxi to Magic Kingdom is Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. DVC guests can stay at one of several luxury villas and enjoy elegantly decorated rooms at this Victorian-style resort. At Grand Floridian guests have access to several wonderful restaurants, lovely pools, and stunning views of Seven Seas Lagoon and the nightly Electrical Water Pageant. Guests can also enjoy monorail access when they stay at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort.
Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows
Disney’s Polynesian Resort is home to the DVC villas and incredible DVC water-side bungalows. This resort gives guests a true island experience with its incredible Hawaiian dining, hula dance lessons, nightly torch lighting ceremonies, sandy lakeside beaches, and overall laid-back vibe. Guests of Disney’s Polynesian Resort can enjoy water taxi service to Magic Kingdom, as well as monorail access to Magic Kingdom and EPCOT.
Disney’s Contemporary Resort
Another deluxe resort with access to a boat is Disney’s Contemporary Resort, home to DVC’s Bay Lake Tower. Disney’s Contemporary Resort is a modern resort with monorail access inside the building. This resort is home to great shopping and dining including the iconic character buffet: Chef Mickey’s. Because of the Contemporary’s close proximity to Magic Kingdom, there isn’t boat access to the park from the resort. Rather, guests are able to take a short walk there or ride the monorail. The boat at Disney’s Contemporary Resort instead takes guests to Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Wilderness Lodge.
Disney’s Boardwalk Villas
Disney’s Boardwalk Villas is a DVC resort that is located on a lively boardwalk that is full of shopping, dining, drinking, and dessert. Disney’s Boardwalk Resort is home to incredible DVC villas, and guests are able to take a water taxi to both Hollywood Studios and EPCOT.
Disney’s Beach Club Villas
Disney’s Beach Club is located near Disney’s Boardwalk and offers a laid-back beachy atmosphere. Home of the underrated Cape May Cafe seafood buffet, Disney’s Beach Club is a great DVC destination for those searching for an understated yet elegant resort. The boat at Disney’s Beach Club Resort also takes guests to both Hollywood Studios and EPCOT.
Disney’s Old Key West Resort
The original DVC resort, Old Key West, is a large resort that makes guests feel at home in an old Florida beach town. Olivia’s Cafe is located here and serves up brunch and dinner in a small-town way. Guests love the Sandcastle Pool, the beautiful walking paths, and the close proximity to Disney’s golf courses. The boat at Disney’s Old Key West Resort takes guests to Disney Springs.
Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort
Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort is a DVC resort that is located along the water and features a beautiful equestrian theme. This resort is home to the stunning DVC Treehouse Villas which give guests a unique opportunity to stay in a luxury treehouse that is elevated off of the ground and overlooking the water. This resort also features boat access to Disney Springs.
