One of the most exciting aspects of Disney World is that things are always growing and changing! While EPCOT is the biggest transformation in progress at Disney World, a new dining location has also been announced for a nearby DVC resort. Disney Parks released detail this week about a deli-style quick service restaurant will be opening at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn this summer!
BoardWalk Deli will be taking the place of the Boardwalk Bakery which sits between BoardWalk Ice Cream and Trattoria al Forno. The BoardWalk Bakery currently serves pastries, desserts, and sandwiches. Although full details of the BoardWalk Deli’s have not been announced, a few photos have been released that indicate that similar items with a Northeastern spin will be available.
For example, it is likely that you will still be able to get desserts, like cannolis, at the BoardWalk Deli. In addition to baked goods and sweets, there will also be a selection of Northeastern-style sandwiches, such as Pastrami Reubens.
There are several other dining locations coming to Disney’s BoardWalk Inn in the near future! The resort’s lobby will be receiving a complete renovation which will include the addition of a coffee bar. It is expected that this new coffee spot will offer indoor and outdoor seating areas to enjoy artisanal beverages and quick bites.
For even more sweets options, a dessert table service location, The Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers, will be opening at the BoardWalk. This restaurant, which is set to open in 2023, will have sweet and savory items on their menu as well an afternoon tea service. Gwendolyn and her cakes have received with many awards and have been recognized by Oprah, USA Today, and the Food Network. An opening date and full menu has not been released yet.
